I can’t help with the problem of sending things back to Temu but the following may be helpful.

Have you thought about looking for a fridge on Freecycle?  There are usually quite a lot on offer.  When I moved a while ago I needed a fridge as the previous one was built in.  I found a full size one on Freecycle and got a “man with a van” to collect it for me.  I went with him.  I have some affluent friends who totally refurbed their kitchen and put their high end fridge and freezer on Freecycle, so it’s not just cheap stuff.

No way to transport it and man with van is a waste of money I could put toward a new one.  Thinking to buy a decent one on Very next month. Will keep buying sandwiches every day till then.

The seller is driving me mad.  Don't think they're going to even reply let alone refund.

If I open a MoneyClaimOnline will I get my MoneyClaim fee back too?

Desperately want my money back. Really struggling and stressed, has impacted so much of my life.

MoneyClaimOnline is a government subsidised service and like all govt subsidised services it is desperately underfunded and has a long waiting list. At current levels, if you submit a claim today it will not get to a hearing until next year.

The judge will almost certainly allow you to claim your fees back if you win your case. He would only refuse if you are clearly abusing the service such as trying to make a revenge claim or 'proving a point of principle'.

A quicker process than MCoL might be Temu's own Return & Refund Policy.
    https://www.temu.com/be/return-and-refund-policy.html#:~:text=For%20refunds%20of%20returned%20items,returned%20new%2C%20unused%20and%20complete.

Your damaged goods have now been collected from you and returned to the warehouse.
    Temu say:
After the warehouse receives the items and they pass quality inspection, the refund will be issued.
If you do not receive the refund afterwards, please contact us for further assistance.
You can check the refund status of your items on your order details page or through Temu's SMS/Email/Push notifications.

Have you checked the refund status of your item?

Been talking to Temu cs for weeks.  Goes round in circles getting nowhere. Repeating a script.  The seller has given me no valid tracking for the collection so the order page has no record of it being returned apart from my messages to the seller and Temu confirming it was collected the minute it was.  The seller never replies to any message.

Why do sellers play this stupid game? Are they really hoping I'll give up over so much money?

Yes, that's exactly what they are hoping. They don't care about reputation, they'll hold onto your money unless forced to return it, and possibly even after that. There's next to no downside for them in just ignoring the law.

This mess gets worse.  Temu now say they can't help because they are implying the return is lost in transit! A fridge freezer!!

Where do I stand now? Have collection proof but no tracking. Is it not the seller's responsibility to chase up their own courier (who collected it on their behalf)? About to pull the trigger on a chargeback because this is obviously never going to be resolved and I need my money back. Seller never answers a single message.

I think people need to realise that if they buy from companies based in China their consumer rights are pretty much non existent.  Cost of returning items along with the hassle of doing so, makes that pointless.

Seller has a UK address or UK freight forwarding address and is listed as local warehouse. Temu may be Chinese but process payments as Temu GB on bank statements so there has to be UK consumer rights.  The item was £150, I'm not losing that, I'm desperate for the money tbh.

Just do the chargeback and see what happens.  If it fails or is reversed at a later date, you'll have to take it to court.
