Does anyone know how you deal with sellers of large items on Temu?

The short and unfortunate answer is that you will struggle.

As the seller is in China, any consumer rights you have will, in any, be those given by Chinese law.  Even if, on paper, these provided some protections, it would be effectively impossible to enforce anything.

You're very unlikely to get a refund from them.

The complication with going to your card provider is that the goods were supplied.
    Are you certain about that?

Temu is a marketplace like Amazon, eBay, B&Q, etc.
They facilitate sales of goods from all over the world to customers who are also anywhere in the world. However as far as I can see on their site, all the fridge freezers offered to UK buyers are 'Comfee' branded models sold by a company in the north of England:

    KABINET LIMITED
    22-26 Kay Street
    Manchester
    Greater Manchester
    M11 2DU
    United Kingdom

They say delivery within 48 hours which also suggests they are not in China.

blcnfr24, is that the British company you bought it from?
Good point - I saw "Chinese brand freezer" and read that as it coming from China.

Sounds like a bit of a nightmare.  Even if the seller does arrange collection - and I'd be impressed if they do - I guess you'd still be responsible for packaging it up.
This is the reason I tend to buy large items from reputable local stores such as John Lewis.
Assuming it's a UK trader I'm not sure the OP would have to re-package it.  All the CRA says is that the consumer has a duty to make it available for collection.  If the trader doesn't want it damaged they need to sort out the collection like this...

... The seller needs to arrange a collection with a courier who can bring suitable packaging material...

Apart from that I agree with you that buying large items at a distance is too much hassle if they go wrong.

Know anyone selling American style fridge freezers you can pickup in store? Or a car that can take an American style fridge freezer in the back?

You may shop in store but that stuff is still going to be delivered to you and so you have the same problem with returns but now you dont have the right to cancel due to change of mind

If I'm buying a fridge I won't be changing my mind once I've decided what I want...

Don't think it was that seller.  Comfee' is a brand name used by Midea, a huge, quality Chinese appliance and heat pump manufacturer. This is why I thought I got a steal. They also make for many store brands in the UK.

Maybe the seller is not geared up to deal with returns in the UK or had so many sales they're overwhelmed. I don't get why they sent a fake returns label though.

Thought I was buying direct from a quality Chinese appliance brand that is entering the UK market (like Hisense and Haier did). Now it's really sold by some furniture shop that has a lot of their appliances and multiple Temu storepages. Totally confused.

The manufacturer is not very important in terms of your consumer rights because you don't have a contract with the manufacturer.
Your consumer rights are with the trader.
On the page where your fridge is described, under the BRAND name on the RHS there is a button 'Sold by trader >'
If you click that button it tells you the full details of the trader you bought from.

What's the trader's name and address?

Thank you. Yes I can see now. Same trader KABINET LIMITED.
They are using the manufacturer's name as their store name. I thought I couldn't go wrong.
All the negative reviews are saying what I'm saying here. Damaged goods. Fake return label. Hard to get replies.

...but much, much easier to enforce your consumer rights in Manchester than in Guangzhou!
