Progressed a few more OATs in the garden today:

    - Cut the dead branches and twigs out of the weeding cake hydrangea. I think it heard me talking about chopping it down - somehow it’s put on new leaves and is flowering again!! 😳

    - Cut back and cleared all the edges of the beds and cut some dead stuff back in the sit spot border. it’s all ready to mow tomorrow.

    - Dug out a goat’s willow and a hazel right down to the root in the tiny border under the conservatory. That’s a job that’s been needing doing for a very long time!

    - Cut back the contorted hazel - it’s expanding and dropping like it does every summer and covering the back of the sit spot border …

Pleased with getting those done 😊

I've emptied one chest freezer and refilled it from the other in a vaguely organised way. I now have an almost empty freezer to fill.

Went to my mum's and picked apples and pears (she's staying with me while she recovers from one of a series of operations). These will be peeled/cored/chopped and shoved in slow cookers before freezing. I'll pick more later this week when she's in for her next op, and bring them back to do more.

Cooked 3 BNS in 3 batches in the IP for dog kongs/lick mats. Filled billions of kongs and lick mats and froze them... One more lick mat to go in when the last one has set enough not to stick to the one above, and one more kong to fill. So hopefully a couple of weeks of snacks/distractions (and fruit & veg) done. Plus several pots of BNS frozen.

Half a BNS chopped up with other veg and roasted with a spatchcocked poussin that was reduced in the supermarket yesterday. Portioned up, and will go in the fridge at bedtime and possibly in the freezer tomorrow (depending on what else I find in the fridge for us to eat).

I need to book my MOT... but things are a bit up in the air due to my mum's surgery, so it's hard to plan. And tomorrow needs to involve a LOT of laundry and gardening, and probably harvesting and cooking veg (and maybe some raspberries).

You were nibbling away at it carefully, doing it so thoroughly it’s going to sparkle for another month 😉😊

A few weeks ago my gardener/handyman rerouted the DW drainage hose by making a hole at the top of the cabinet and hooking it up and over rather than letting it run along the ground coiled under the unit. There's still some under the unit, but the water initially goes up and over so can't flow back into the machine. Miraculously, the hot wash, which hasn't worked since I moved here two years ago (it's a built in DW, not as nice as my old one which is still in the garage!) is now working - I've just descaled the DW and for the first time ever it hasn't given a fault code and has finished the cycle. It may have taken two years to get round to it, but was clearly worth the effort!

I did an unintended OAT - cleaned the outside of the downstairs windows  Sun was streaming through the kitchen ones, and we had visitors, so I whizzed out to wipe them, and it was so quick I did the rest too
