A huge OAT day yesterday. We emptied and tidied the shed, identifying some things for trash nothing and the tip. We then emptied the storeage locker of the stuff we tidied away for viewings when we had our house on the market. Next week's OATs may involve unpacking 9 boxes and more ebaying...6

Ooh, that's very impressive! Well done!
Slightly less impressive but still most definitely an OAT here - emptied the little car of the bags I cleared out of my office at the end of June 😬 We're moving to hot desking, so anything I want to keep has to now live in my house 🙄 While it was quite difficult to get rid of stuff back then, now I've been driving it round for six weeks, and especially now it's all piled in my study at home, I'm becoming more ruthless 😂😂
Two bags of books to the charity shop this morning (along with a bag of Mr C's clothes and some maps and guide books), and another box scanned for We Buy Books - I'll parcel those up today. Might go through all the paper while I'm feeling ruthless! 😂3 -
Thank you Kajikita and Cheery-Daff, it's funny how ruthless you can get once it's all piled up looking at you. Get that shredder working on all the paper - good luck!2

A pile has gone in the recycling, and I've parcelled up a box of books for We Buy Books - it'll only get me £6.24 but it's nice to have SOMETHING for the amount I've spent on them over the years. Lots from charity shops, but even so. I've been trying to ask myself 'would I buy this now?' Often I'm being sentimental over something I've had for years (and often never even read!) So if I wouldn't buy it now, off it goes.
Just need to get the parcel to the parcel shop now!3 -
Have ordered a whole lot of boring stuff - laundry liquid, soda crystals, epsom salts, white vinegar, dried cannellini beans, charcoal for the dog etc. And managed to avoid Amazon, which I'm really pleased about. One of the suppliers turns out to be a local one that historically I have bought via Amazon, so I'm glad I made the effort to find their website and buy direct.

Got a renewal for English Heritage through the post. I don't want to renew, so tried to login to cancel. Can't login - when I try it tells me I'm not registered, and when I try to register it tells me I'm already registered, and can't register again 🙄 live chat messages just disappear, tried ringing but was on hold for 13 minutes so eventually sent them an email (also telling them how difficult it was to get in touch, although I suspect that's a design feature 🙄) Let's hope that results in a cancellation!
Still, it's an OAT ticked off before I go away for a couple of days - although I would rather have spoken to someone and had it confirmed 🙄3 -
Have just emailed the water filter company as I've had yet another vile-tasting bottle of chilled water out of the fridge. I've been using their cartridges since I moved in here (no choice) and they've been fantastic until this last one (which I think is the 5th I've had from them). Not only are they not cheap, but it means I end up not drinking enough water.2

Water filter people have replied and I've reduced the flow rate to the filter, so we'll see how that goes. Boring stuff ordered this morning is nearly all on it's way already.2

I painted the legs of my butchers block trolley thing in the kitchen. It looks loads better! It was just a cheap ikea one to replace some of the cupboards and work top that disintegrated. I painted the legs matt black and I'm going to sand and oil the top and the shelves.
Also washed the rug and picked up a prescription.
Couldn't finish painting the railings because the gold paint didn't arrive.Debts 04/01/25 01/09/25
