The above was actually from yesterday, I had all sorts of weird and wonderful things coming up when I tried to log in.Today is a whole different ball game, goal posts have been moved, not sure company will still be standing in 6 months so doubtful I will have a job. Honestly this is such a rollercoaster of ups and downs. I really don’t know where I stand. What I do know is I need to get out of my overdraft and build up an emergency fund and some sort of savings asap. And breathe.3

Job uncertainty is awful. Just do what you can and don't put too much pressure on yourself."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Certainly a good idea to build up some sort of financial buffer. Check the budget too. Perhaps create one that does not include your income?Saving To Keep Ahead Of The Game — MoneySavingExpert Forum

Thank you both. I need to get through the next few weeks then I’m hoping my work load will settle down a little. I am literally doing my bosses work who they made redundant along with my normal job. I’m really struggling and money is just flying out of the bank with yet more school trips and food and just living. I just want to stay at home and hibernate and come out when everything is a bit easier.
i get paid on Monday, so that’s something. Stopped myself spending money on unnecessary stuff today. I have ended up buying lunch 2 days as I stupidly didn’t pack any though. But didn’t buy make up or perfume that I was hankering after. I’m really trying.
OH and the children are away. So it’s just me, no idea what to do with myself, I have a very long day at work tomorrow. But apart from that no plans. Maybe I could batch cook some things. I have lots of frozen bananas and veg that needs cooking.

Hi missy, can't believe the month you've had you poor thing. I thought mine was bad enough.
I hope you'll get some extra pay for all the extra workload? Otherwise they're proper taking the Mick with that. Like you've not got enough on your plate. Will you start job hunting if they're looking at closing the company down completely, might be worth getting ahead of the others.

Thank you so much @debtfreewannabe321 I haven’t caught up with your diary, I need to, I hope you’re ok?No sign of any money yet and won’t be any until at least after September, if not next year if the company doesn’t fold, but there are whispers of yet more redundancies by the end of the year, they’ll be no one left! I even told higher management that I was drowning in work and they said that’s a good thing to be so busy at this time…
It’s all so confusing and so many whispers!
I usually love my job, and have up until this point. I really don’t want to leave so don’t know what to do re looking for another job right now.First task is to still be in the black in my account by the end of July. No eating out or buying unnecessary things. Car loan is up next May.

No money spent today on wants, I have bought some uniform on Vinted. But that’s saving money on buying new and is necessity for September.Work was horrendous and there is even more speculation that the company is closing! Contractors keep texting me and I have no answers. I’ll see what the directors say on Monday. I am VERY concerned.
I Took the left over food home from work, so that was dinner tonight, I will use the chicken in tomorrows wraps and will eat the cake and fruit too.I’m not going to spend any money all weekend, I’ve decided.3 -
Ahh 3 people text me last night telling me they’d heard the company was closing! I am very worried for my job as you can imagine! I think I might have to start looking for another one!!! The trouble is I get paid a decent wage and where I live the average wage is a lot lower….. really wish I didn’t have the car loan.Trying hard to be positive as really don’t want OH going into a depression again, (as his job is connected to mine as he works for me sometimes), as his mental state is only just stabilising.… Going to have a look at direct debits and see what I can make lower. See what I can sell on Vinted, haven’t ever done this yet. Any help or thoughts on what I can do to minimise things are appreciated.2

It sounds a scary time. Get your cv ready and have a look what’s available, apply for anything you are interested in and see what happens - nothing to lose and you only have to make a decision if a job is offered to you. It will make you feel you are doing something positive. If you lost your job, would you receive redundancy? Would it be better to stay for that or jump ship? If the company remains open is your future secure or will you just be in the same position 6 months later? We spend so much time and effort at work it has to be worth it.
other tips is for funding my ds birthday/school trips I sell stuff throughout the year that goes in a pot so those are usually covered. I save monthly for Christmas
its great your eating healthier and cheaper, that’s something I need to do!!
Perhaps do an updated SOA. I was still using an old one and couldn’t understand why my leftover spends was none existent - it was an eye opener doing a new one but made me more aware and was able to see where I could shave a bit off.

Hope things settle for you soonYes you’re right I really do need to update my cv, I guess and get a linked wotsit account. I know indeed and reed were always good websites, anyone know of any other? I wouldn’t get redundancy as I haven’t been permanent for long, less than 2 years. But I LOVE my job, and I’ve fought my way for it in a man’s world and am well
respected, and simply don’t want to leave, as I can work flexibly when I like in the sense I can pick the children up and rarely miss a school event. I’m also not really managed, I am my own boss as such, I have hierarchy but they just let me get on with it. So
I will wait it out for as long as I can, but I will take your advice and at least see what is out there.
Yes an SOA is definitely needed, I don’t know when I did it last.I have all weekend to come up with a plan which I am grateful for, and I have food in the fridge and cupboards.
I always mean to save for school trips and Christmas each month but then something comes up and I end up spending it. I have my big tax bill at the end of July which I am very mindful of. Have another instalment of Roos school trip next month too £200…. And breathe. It’s ok.4
