@TimeLord1 thanks for that, I was emailing the rents dept last week they told me how much to pay for the spare bedroom which turns out to be wrong & I was over paying!.
I did mention I was applying for U/C but have just sent another email tagged onto that conversation now saying I have applied for U/C on the 22nd of May & this week is the last week the old style HB is paid, & that I thought I would let you know in case there is anything you need to do your end with U/C

If you request in UC through payments that you would like your rent payments sent directly to the landlord, then the agent will do this for you. They will probably ask you to confirm the rent amount to be deducted and have one to confirm your landlord is using the portal, stating, "Your landlord has told us your rent is £xx.xx. Is this correct?" Lots of people use the advance to keep their rent up-to-date you can also get a statement printout of what has currently been paid.1

Thanks @TimeLord1 I have to pay rent every week for the spare bedroom so I've kept it so that the rent money comes to me, I will just obviously pay the full amount each week instead of only one bedroom.0

As long as you know that it's in credit and waiting, you're not falling into debt, and then you'll be fine. I think sometimes it' feels like you're getting somewhere, and then it will just go quiet for weeks. Then it's time to make tea. 🫡1

@TimeLord1 Thank you, I feel like I've gotten somewhere so far, but I can see it's going to be time to make the tea now. I've never been very patient waiting for it to brew though1

The housing rent dept has got back to me & said, if the rent amount is paid on time every month then you will be fine.
Erm I've just told them the next time I get any money to pay the rent is in three weeks time on a Friday leaving three Mondays when I have to pay the rent that is not covered.
Just as well I think I will be able to cover it because they sure don't seem bothered by it

They are not too bothered about it as you have realised. If you should happen to fall behind then they will just ask for a bit more each week/month until you catch up again.Do you have an online portal where you can see ehere your rent account balance is at?1
-
@Newcad Sometimes when I have my rent account open it says what the balance is (I have to pay one week in advance) sometimes it's right sometimes not, but if I go back in the next day it rights its self again after my payments gone through.
So I'm going to pay the full rent because the old HB should have stopped now & see what happens the next day.0 -
Well the housing association told U/C a different amount for my rent each week.
On the U/C form it says the Total amount of rent. Then sundries. So I put the total amount of rent & then listed under it the sundries to be taken off if they won't pay for them.
The HA put for the Total amount of rent the rent minus the sundries & then listed the sundries amount.
I've said this is correct It's probably me who did it wrong.
Edit to say:
I've just had another question about the spare bedroom, If I need the spare bedroom for someone to stay with me over night I might get more U/C. I don't. So it looks like someone is going through the housing section hopefully sorting my rent out0 -
TBH when you first mentioned it I saw that you were incorrect, but I let it ride because if you had tried to correct it at that time it could have ended up confusing and delaying things. You have a 'Rent amount' and a "Service charge' which make up your total weekly payment amount.UC have got used to people sometimes confusing which is which, and that's why they double check with your HA.A bit different because I migrated to UC a few years back, but own HA helpfully sends out a little booklet every year when the rent goes up saying which is which and setting out plainly how you should enter it on you UC To-Do about the rent going up.1
