Hi jorichste,
There's an older thread with lots of recipes that should help so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the recipes and tips together.

Homemade coleslaw is dead easy to make, so much cheaper than buying it ready made and people are always really impressed. Try serving it with chilli and garlic bread when doing a bit of mass catering.

I always use half mayonnaise and half plain yoghurt for the dressing - it's lovely!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

red cabbage, white cabbage, savoy cabbage if it is cheap, red onion, grated carrot.
Slice everything apart from the carrot up finely and mix it with a large spoonfull of any sort of mustard and either yoghurt (3 large pots for a quid from our local indian shop), soya yoghurt (99p a large pot from Tescos) or any cheapo mayonaiise.
easy and stores for ages in an airtight box in the fridge.0 -
I use grated carrot, grated white cabbage and small amount of grated/finely chopped onion...you can use just this or add extras eg. chopped apple, grapes, celery etc. Instead of just mayonnaise or salad cream, I use a mixture of half mayonnaise and half natural yogurt. This makes it lovely and creamy, but a bit tangy and refreshing at the same time!0

finely shredded white cabbage, finely chopped onion and a carrot sliced thin. mix together with mayo, a good squeeze lemon juice, a litle salt and a good grind of black pepper. its lovely but is even better if made the day before you need it.
just before serving, you can add some chopped apple. some green and red apple makes it a bit interesting and colourful.0 -
