My overpayment for April is going to be £173.
This will bring my total to £934 for the year so far.
I'm almost halfway to my target!!!!!! Although May won't be a good month because travel expenses in April will be minimal - two weeks off!!!! Even so I should get to the £1000.
Very happy with progress!!

Hello
Oooh, I feel like a newbie all over again.
Anyway, I recently cleared the last of our debts - we had £17k of debt when we got married in 1999, and have since taken out and paid off a £5k car loan....which comes to a rather scary £22k of debt.
Our mortgage is currently sitting at £32.5k, plus a secured loan of £5k, and I've got this vague idea that I'd like to get it below £30k in total this year, using a sharesave that matures in August and also by overpaying.
Not quite ready to sign up just yet, because I'm on maternity leave for another 6 days....lol....so I don't know what my earnings will be when I go back, but just wanted to tentatively stick my head round the door and say hello.
Congratulations and good luck to all those who are well underway with their mortgage clearing. :T"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Hello Snaggles
I'll welcome to the challenge. That seems weird being a lurker of the DFW board. I am sure you will do just fine putting all your DFW knowledge and effort into overpaying.0 -
Hi All,
Despite being a student I have completely forgotten about the grant we get so imagine my joy today when I checked my account and it had £900 more in than I was expecting! Yay!!! So have just written out a cheque for £500 and am off to the post office now to send it. I know it'll be a week before it's actually credited to my account (how do they justify that!?) but it all gets there in the end. The other £400 has gone into my ISA as I want to go on holiday this summer with my little lad.
Target was £2000 by December at £800 already - so chuffed with this site, it's just so motivating!

Just a quick update - my goal for 2008 is £200 a month or £2400 in total. So far I have managed £200 a month extra by increasing my direct debit by £200. So total overpayments so far for 2008 are £600! Good thing about increasing the direct debit is that i do not notice the overpayment now, as I have planned all my other expenditure around it!MFW 2011 challenge - Aim: Overpay £414.26 a month/£5,000 a year. Ahem, as someone who was ridiculously excited by an unexpected quidco payment of 10p this morning I can't believe how I'd have reacted if £900 had been paid in. Bet I'd have given Meg Ryan a run for her money
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
