Just back from a lovely holiday in Malaysia and feeling lucky to have missed the snow. Paid off £950 this month which is great. It will be slow for the next two months once the holiday bills start coming through................... I need to start selling on Ebay but I'm missing a motivation gene, with a bit of luck my lack of being able to pay much extra without new income will get me going. I have found the camera which is a start.
welcome back toot!

Gustav.
welcome gustav:T You are added to the fist post. Let me know if you have a particular figure in mind to pay off this year and I will add that to the list. If not, we can keep your target more general like 'pay off as much as possible this year' Let me know!

Hi Bellsbells, I am a new member in MSE forum, and I would like to set a target for myself. I currently have a mortgage of 65000 pounds, I aim to invest+save so that I can be mortgage free within 3 years.
First step is 20k less before April 2009!
welcome birdstill:j

Phew - I think I have caught up with all the totals! Well done everyone on a fantastic amount overpayed this month, and welcome to all the new joiners. If there is anyone else out there who wants to send me their total please do so this evening. Tomorrow I will be clearing the first post ready for Aprils overpayments!
Please don't forget that if you want to PM me with updated please can you send me the amount paid off and your new running total for the year. Also, can you check that I have put you goal/total down correctly - I am not perfect and have and will make mistakes:o

Hi,
Another newbie here!
I've recently started part time (temporary) work after being a SAHM for 2.5 years. It's well paid (consultancy for my old employers) so ater nursery fees I've got around £2-300 per mth that we didn't have before. So DH and I have decided that we are going to start throwing all we can at the mortgage.
In the process of moving to a better deal at the mo, we have £126ish outstanding and will be paying a rate of 5.95% over 22 years. The max we can overpay by is £2000 a year and we're aiming to save £200 at least per mth in order to do this comfortably. Got a savings account all set up, a change jar on the side in the kitchen and I'm going to start taking our £1 and £2 coins out of our purses and pockets at the end of each day as well!
Good luck everyone (although luck has nothing to do with it!)0 -

hello another newbie here
I am so pleased to be joining this thread at last. Just back from the bank and we have set up a standing order for £300 a month over payment into the mortgage account. We may be able to pay more than this some months we'll just have to see how it goes. So we are aiming for £2400 for 2008. First payment is made on 1st May.
Good Luck EveryoneMFW 1/5/08 £45,789 Cleared mortgage 1/02/13

Hi,
Bellsbells, I've been v busy getting ready for my little one so haven't had a chance to pop in and also had to step back from overpaying. I've got a standing order for extra £30 monthly so unfortunately that's all I managed to put in March.
That's £490 for me up to the end of March then.
And obviously there will be another £30 in April, May and so on ;-)0
