I was given this list when I asked Chase whether specific vendors I had previously purchased from were still eligible for cashback.
I appreciate it's difficult for a consumer to find out what the specific code in advance of any transaction, but for what it's worth some might find this useful.
As a suggestion, if anyone reading this has a transaction they think should have been included in the mccs below but wasn't, post here, others may find it useful.

    Groceries
MCC 5411 - Grocery Stores and Supermarkets
MCC 5499 - Miscellaneous Food Stores-Convenience Stores and Specialty Markets

    Everyday transport
MCC 4111 - Local and Suburban Commuter Passenger Transportation, including Ferries
MCC 4131 - Bus Lines, includes Charters/Tour Buses
    MCC 4011 - Railroads
MCC 4112 - Passenger Rail (train)

    Fuel and electric charging
MCC 5541 - Service Stations (with or without Ancillary Services)
MCC 5542 - Automated Fuel Dispensers
MCC 5552 - Electric vehicle charging

In the recent months there have been multiple transactions of my train ticket purchases not getting any cashback, some of them are high value tickets. Examples included
    Uber Travel - 4121 (taxi)
    Trainsplit - 4722 (travel agency)
Hull Trains - 4789 (transportation services not elsewhere classified)

I have been contacting the customer service about these transactions and they have refused to give a way for me to confirm the code used before I place an order for a train ticket, and I lost a large amount of cashbacks as a result compared to buying them elsewhere and/or placing them on a different card. I use a variety of retailers because they have different features. For example, if I want split ticketing I have to use A, if I want bike reservation I have to use B, if I want free cancellations I have to use C, etc.

I am going to escalate this matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service if I can't get a satisfactory reply from the bank.

Which of those match the MCC given as in scope?

Their website is clear that eligibility is dependent on MCC and they highlight that the vendors merchant bank sets the MCC not them. You dont have a right to complain to the merchant banks as you are not their customer and Chase will just reiterate what's on their website. If you get a kick out of writing complaints etc then fill your boots but dont expect any other outcome than a complaint not upheld

Chase won't know what MCC codes a retailer uses before it sees the transaction.

If you want cashback on such transactions, I suggest you use a different debit or credit card for them instead.

This lack of certainty is one of the reasons I stopped using my Chase debit card.  That and the general erosion of benefits (interest, cashback on most transactions, cashback on foreign purchases).  Oh and the hassle of shuffling more cash around to qualify each month.
