Thanks Boodedoo - 6 months already, it has absolutely flown past!
Payday has been and gone so money moved to the roof savings and emergency fund.
Mortgage payment has gone including including the usual £12.99 overpayment.
Haven't spent much money since payday, just £23.31 on food shopping. Was working NS Fri, Sat and Sun so basically just worked and slept - great for saving money!
Day off today so have come down to the allotment. OH is not feeling well today so just by myself but it's nice to be outside and getting fresh air.
Treated myself to a bacon roll and coffee from the nearby bakery (£4.50) and currently sitting enjoying it while watching a robin pick over the bed I've just cleared.
Plan for the rest of the day is eyebrows appointment at 12.30, food shop and then cleaning plus a bit of relaxation before back to work tomorrow.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.10.25 - £105,295.65

Spends for today: £49.15 on food shopping, £20 on eyebrows, £16 on hair dye and £3.90 on throat sweets and cold/flu tablets for OH. He is feeling very yucky so hoping I don't catch whatever he has.
£7.21 from surveys moved to mortgage overpayment account.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.10.25 - £105,295.65

NSD yesterday

Roofer came out to look at what needs done so waiting for the quote to come through. The figure he mentioned is doable from savings but would pretty much wipe out what's in the roof savings, the emergency fund and OH's savings
The alternative would be to use a money transfer offer from my credit card (0% until February 2027, 3.2% fee), keep the money in savings and then pay it back. Undecided at present as really don't want to go back into debt but also don't want to wipe out all of our savings. Ah well will wait until the quote comes through and then discuss properly with OH before making a decision.
Better get a move on for work. Double shift today.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.10.25 - £105,295.65

Hopefully the quote will be less than his ball park figure and you can always get other quotes to compare. The cost is probably way more than you'd like but realistically not as bad as leaving it and risking further damage to the structure of your home.
6 months after the most major purchase of your life, you have a healthy emergency fund, money set aside for car fund/Christmas etc. have made overpayments to your mortgage, have saved towards the roof repair/replacement. Stand back and think about how great that is
You've got this, you will do it
It may mean that the money transfer route is your best option and that will grate for a while but you'll suss out between you what the best way forward is.
