New Lloyds Premier current account

There are no longer any requirements for Cater Allen, other than you must be over 18.Theleak250 said:I thought carter allan required a £5000 balance maintained on the account? Or is that no longer the case.
I could not find a banking app for them. Do they use Santander app?
P.S I do like the Lloyds card for this account.
There is no app; you have to manage without one.

The relationship manager in these instances is primarily a named salesman - hence my qualifier 'real' . You can can get the occasional perk like a quickie bridging loan but not much else.Marchitiello said:
I have Talked about this at the time, but Lloyds had an unofficial premier Service for selected affluent people on standard account. I was assigned a Personal Relationship Manager with a direct line back in 2016 with a standard Club Lloyds account.[Deleted User] said:
Private / Mayfair is the the minimum tier for something like a relationship manager; you aren't going to get a real relationship manager at Premier level. Premier is a mass affluent account with some more bells and whistles than standard Club Lloyds. Expect slightly better rates on existing products and a fancier debit card.equitydealer said:I assume they will maintain the same general eligibility requirement as for Lloyds 360, i.e. an income of £75000 or a minimum amount in savings/investments held with Lloyds. I really hope they offer a genuine incentive or rewards programme but looking at their Private and Mayfair offerings all they get in addition is a relationship manager, slightly higher easy access savings rate and no admin fee on shares ISAs.I am also a customer of HSBC Premier, RBS Premier, Barclays Premier, Santander Select and Cater Allen. Of all these, HSBC would be the best one, with free Travel Insurance and since they have upped the income requirement, also free Health benefit. Barclays give you access to Premier Avios and free Apple TV subscription, plus some invitation only events. RBS, paired with a rewards account, give you extra rewards, and some travel benefits. Santander do not offer much, unless you do travel in countries where they have a bigger presence and in addition to be able to use their ATM for free, you may also get access to their Select Lounges. So Lloyds does need to come up with some benefits to
make it attractive. In any case, as I understand, the current 360 customers (I was also given this in 2024), will be invited to “apply” for the premier account if they are deemed to meet the criteria
I'm hoping due to the new entrant that HSBC Premier debit goes forex free. I would consider a decent Premier offering from sibling bank BOS too.1 -
Free FX is the only benefit missing for me on HSBC Premier. It'd make me go from happy to very happy and given First Direct offer it, I think it's something HSBC should seriously be considering for Premier customers.[Deleted User] said:

my set up with HSBC, currently, is HSBC Premier Account, HSBC Global Money + 2 x HSBC Currency Accounts (Euro and USD to receive payments), and it all work nicely from the phone app.0 -
I have never been offered anything from my Lloyds Relationship Manager aside of help to resolve some issues. Same with my other premier Accounts (direct lines to get something done quickly). Only one that have recently started being more “pushy” is RBS/NatWest with regular “offers”…[Deleted User] said:

Does anyone know when this rolls out? Heard nothing yet…I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

The Global Money has a place (to exchange funds or hold non-GBP funds) but can't replace Premier ad-hoc debit or credit forex spending. It would make the paid Premier Elite more appealing too when compared with Santander and Lloyds/Halifax Elite cards.Marchitiello said:

That you like it or not HSBC strategy has been to launch Global Money as the offering for spending Forex Free. It can be used to hold currencies but you could simply have the full balance in GBP and each transaction would be still forex free. Offering Forex Free on Premier accounts would make GM redundant for that customer base.[Deleted User] said:

For the Premier Elite CC they were unique for a while as an alternative to Amex Rewards and BA cards (and Barclaycard Avios Plus is the better comparison, still offering better returns) but I guess they have not seen much change in customer behaviours to wanting to enhance the offer.. personally after the initial bonus, and have played the cancellation/wait/reapply a couple of times, I now simply have the Premier Word card as a back up to the Barclaycard Avios Plus, which in turn is a Back up to my Amex portfolio.0 -
