Morning all,
I’m not sure that anyone wants to know how many random song lines are held in my head. And then there are all the ones that I sort of know but not quite…like a lot of stuff in my head really.
Yesterday was, compared to recent weeks, a relatively successful flying day. Bedding did go on the line with every peg I could muster. The washing blew very nicely and didn’t decide to make its way eastwards on the gales. It would have been ever so helpful if I had noticed the sudden downpour a bit quicker though….took an age to grab the washing in, with all those pegs on it…back to square one, grrrr. Cleaned upstairs, including the bathroom. Flicked the vacuum around the kitchen, stairs and hall to pick up the worst, and cleared the ironing mountain. Might have ordered some wool, as I had 20% off some wool that I had been thinking of getting anyway, so rude not to take advantage of the offer. Finally sorted out new pillows for DH which might stop his moaning, plus a new duvet cover which JL very kindly had reduced, along with a light fitting for the newly, nearly finished utility. All in all, a spendy day from the kitchen table, but all things on the list. Maybe not the wool, though…
DH is out at an appointment and running errands this morning. I am on skip collection duty. It will be nice to get that gone from in front of the kitchen window. I was hoping to finally get back to the allotment, as we had a thick frost last night, so not sure how my potatoes will have fared. Yesterday DH did an off piste visit to the market and came back with loads of veg which now needs to be in the meal plan. Very nice, but would have been helpful to know before the Mr M delivery that also came yesterday was finalised. Oh well, not really an issue. Like Narc0, I’m hoping to get our first rhubarb this weekend. My plants are always much later than the others at the allotment.
Sorry, that was a lot of wittering 🤣. Hope you all have a good day and can look forward to a long weekend x6 -
Morning all
When I'm 'singing' and don't know all the words (most songs) it involves me either filling in the gaps singing about stuff I'm doing at the time, rude words or variations on 'plinky plonk'. Welcome to my head

Hello, hope you're doing well today.
Wordle in three. Yesterday was a write off for me as I had a migraine. I even had to take the day off sick and I work from home!
Today I have done a work shift, dailies, walked Poppet, three wasloads are on the line and I've hoovered upstairs.Spend less now, work less later.7 -

Shift at the Foodbank done and I'll skip next week because the normal sessions on Friday and Monday won't happen, so I'd only be going in to process one day's vouchers and there won't be much in the way of donations over Easter either.I tackled the wooden statue a few days ago that needs dusting and started with a paintbrush which then graduated to the cordless thingy with a crevice tool and even then there were clouds coming off with with the paintbrush again and then did some of my office as well. *tings* halo. The weather's too flaky for laundry and we've got someone doing some work on the sundeck so that's out of bounds for a couple of days.
Better is good enough.6 -
Rather a late start today; should have taken a hay fever tablet last night or at least when I made a cup of tea in the morning then went back to bed and read..............kept thinking "oh I need more rest/sleep" but the tablet would have done a better job of making me feel less bleagh. Still, eventually:
- put a load of washing on
- went to Pilates
- went to Mr T to get flowers for church (poor selection; was wanting some small white lisianthus and/or carnations to go with the white and dark red calla lilies, but ended up with small white roses which can be temperamental to arrange); needed one or two veg so ended up buying other stuff on offer.
- collected free 'birthday cake' reward from C0st@
- picked foliage and put oasis in to soak
- liaised with swim buddy to check which day(s) we are in the lake, fitting it around 'ways of the cross' meditation service tomorrow (neighbouring village), cleaning and flower arranging in our church (tomorrow or Saturday) and going to Easter Sunday (our church). Decided we'd swim tomorrow and Monday.
- Oddly, several trays of very nice-looking petunias, lobelia, bidens and brachycome had fallen into my trolley at Mr T so I put them in the greenhouse, gave them a good water and started putting them in hanging baskets. I don't usually buy annuals so early, but they were reasonably priced and seemed good condition so what the heck. Continued working in greenhouse which is packed so I keep tripping over things.
- tidied bedroom which was a fair marathon; still need to clean it.
- about to look at the 5 songs I've picked to play with; drumming lessons are off for another 2 weeks and I'm supposed to get full speed on the Riverboat Song (Ocean Colour Scene) as I'm only currently managing 85-90%; revise Living on a Prayer (BJ) which I did a while ago then tutor said to pick 3 more differing ones to have fun with: for those of you wanting more earworms, how about DD (Weeknd), Dreadlock Holiday (10cc) and Everlasting Love (Love Affair). Now you can all curse me.....which one is the most persistent which you'll still be humming tomorrow?
- sent 1 e-birthday card, several e-Easter cards and one email. And left one phone message.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -

Morning all. Wordle in four.
Narco, I don't recall any of those songs but The Tide is High by Blondie has been whirring round for three days since it was on the radio.
No real plans today but weeding is needed.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Morning all xx
Ahhhhh. Good Friday. Bank Holiday. No paid stuff. No plans. I'll have a lazy day all to myself methinks. Got up at 8. Completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in five, completed Connections with three lives lost, supped my first brew. Picked up my book.
Ping. Text received. Can P & S call at 11 ish to drop off my Easter egg and card? No problem I can be dressed by 11 methinks. Made brew 2. Picked up my book. Looked up. 😱 window cleaner is pulling up outside. I cannot tell a lie: I swore in exasperation. Dashed upstairs to throw on some clothes....no leisurely shower. Sigh. And my brew is no longer stonking hot. And it tastes of toothpaste. Muttley muttering going on now.
With hindsight methinks I could have answered the door in my dressing gown to pay the window cleaner. I reacted rather than responded. Sigh. Anyhoo. I'm dressed. And I have clean windows outside.
I fed the birds and put out the recycling before coming back in to decompress with a lukewarm brew. Or not as the case may be.
Priority today is to clear on and around the kitchen table so that we can sit at it to eat Sunday lunch. See. I wasn't planning on being totally idle. Just easing myself into the day instead of hitting the ground running. That was the plan. It didn't occur to me that the window cleaner is a heathen!!!
Have a good day. Love to all.
