(((Hugs))) Natty and Valli.Have a lovely holibob / minibreak Ionafan.Wordle in four, all four lines on Connections and took a few hints to do Strands.Dog walked, things tidied, areas vacuumed.I had to put headphones on yesterday because we had scaffolders here putting very loud metal up so someone else can come along and give our chimneys and gutters some much needed attention. Boy are their screwy things loud! I repaired to the back yard and repotted two rhubarbs that I should have done weeks ago, with the result that one of them got very smashed up. My own fault. Planted up a couple of trough things on the railings so that when we come down the stairs in the morning we see flowers first thing. And I realised that the reason my seeds don't germinate and I can't grow anything from seed is that I don't water the seedbed sufficiently first, before planting. I am a gardening dunce.I started on the dusting I keep putting off and clouds were coming off a wooden statue thing. For the first time I'll be using the dusting attachment on the cordless thingy today to tackle it because its got a lot of crevices.I also did my tax return, other than a P60 that hasn't been issued yet. Good to get that out of the way so early.
Better is good enough.7 -
Well done on the tax return HoneyBear, I must get a grip on my ex-office and get down to it.
Woke to rain which at least meant I didn't have to water the flowers.
Most of the day was taken up with gymswim, coffee then work - students are on their Easter break so I did 4hrs of archiving and helped unload the DW. Have decided that, as I'm only a volunteer, I can have an Easter break too so I'm only working on Tuesdays this week and next.
Posted another 2 Easter cards.
I have big flying plans for tomorrow, so I hope I can get down to it; no aqua aerobics running so haven't got that as an excuse.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Morning all,
Hugs to Valli and to Natty x
I have been awol since the end of last week but in a good way. DSiL and BiL arrived on Friday for the weekend. We had a lovely time, including a new-to-us walk on a bluebell walk with stunning views. This county with its wide views is beautiful. After they left on Sunday, the spare room was dismantled back to my craft room, and the DR given a good going over. The builders have very nearly finished, just waiting for the electricians to come back and connect everything. Then it is on to the next room, eek.Yesterday I made a flying trip to see DD in uni city to drop off a parcel and cake treats, have a coffee and a quick brunch with her before heading back. All nearly do-able with the train and bus. I got back slightly earlier then expected, and as we only have 4 buses a day, I hit a dead zone. I managed to get a quick bus to the big town hospital which meant that DH only had to do a 10 minute run to collect me rather than an hour or so round trip to the big town train station. Filed away that solution for future reference…
Guest room bedding washed and dried yesterday, now waiting for HHI. I have stripped our bed this morning, with the gale force wind outside, I am not sure if I will see that again if I peg it out. I need to clean the bathroom, maybe also vacuum upstairs, and there is also the ever present HH Admin. Mr M delivering later. That seems enough to have to keep me busy should I choose to accept the challenge of it.7 -
I appreciate the hugs but I don’t need them, it’s my sister who has borne the brunt of the fiasco. we are hoping this home will be fine, anther residents daughter was talking to sis; her mum went into ‘3’s the charm’ having been sectioned, so, clearly Mum won’t be the most challenging resident. And, bonus, ‘3’s the charm’ is near here so we can make a day of it!
Fluff all flying done though i have decluttered hair as my hairdresser is recovering from her dislocated shoulder. But listening to her tale of woe I realise how lucky I was when I did mine.

Morning all, hope this home is 'the one' for your mum Valli. Once she's happily settled you should start seeing a difference in her care.
Well done on getting your taxes done Honey, that's another frog done for you 😄
Fayolle hope you see your washing again after pegging on the line..
Thank you to you all for the well wishes, I've been relatively ok at the moment until I got a phone call literally 10 mins ago from the hospital here. I've got a pre-med appointment booked within a few days and then it could be all systems go depending on what my consultant decides. I'm hoping it's just the camera thingy then they'll make a decision 🤞 But seriously I wasn't expecting to go into hospital this quick I'm not used to these times for ops etc. Now my mind is going into overdrive - imagine I don't wake up or something happens. Just my mind going ten to the dozen...lol
The gardners are here at the moment digging up my garden and preparing for the fake grass. There's a mechanical digger going round my garden....So I've had to shut all curtains tight to stop the dogs going ballistic at strangers in their garden.
And on top of that I've got a blooming headache...lol
Hope everyone has a lovely day and gets what they want done. I'm going to declutter bits that are lying around and out then away in their homes or bin...first a cup of tea and biscuit😁Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

We're back home. Had a lovely day yesterday in Cambridge with DD and DGS1+2, and again today at Stowe Landscape Gardens (NT), though today's long detour on our way home was tinged with sadness because we were supposed to be meeting friends for lunch but the husband, aged 94, is keeping A&E busy.
I've unpacked my bag and Rosie's and put everything away or in the laundry, as appropriate. DH has gone to fetch an Indian takeaway because I'm tired from all the driving. Obviously I shall have to drive long detours more frequently!
Good luck Natty X
Hop your mum settles quickly, Valli x and please pass on this (((hug))) to your sister.7 -
Pleased with today's flying; this morning I did a blitz on the kitchen - amazing how much 'stuff' was in there that belonged elsewhere, but I blame getting ready for and returning from our holiday where things just got dumped. Anyway it is now in the right place, my task being made pleasant as I could play the new Elton CD which DB gave me for my birthday. All washing up done, surfaces wiped etc.
Tomorrow's plan is to do similar in the bedroom. It was my reserve task for this afternoon, but I did gardening instead.
- Ate our first rhubarb today.
- Chose a venue/menu to take SIL out for her birthday (actually it was 10th) as we are overnighting with her en route to Mum's after Easter. Booked the next night for 26.99 at Traveloj so can't complain; there are still some cheap nights but generally not consecutively, hence the stopover at DB/SIL who live halfway between us and Mum.
- Spoke to Mum on phone for a short while; a couple of minor memory lapses but generally sounding bright and cheerful. I do feel that there is some small continuing recovery from her strokes which is pleasing.
- Went to zumba.
- did some drumming practice
Tomorrow, apart from the bedroom blitz (we don't have a ballroom.....cue 70s song from the Sweet!), I have a lot of flagged emails which need dealing with.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
It's, it's, the bedroom blitz yeahhhhhhh.
Morning all xx
I wonder how many songs we hold in our memory? But I can still forget what I was saying halfway through a sentence 🤔
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, packed my lunch bag, eaten breakfast, supped a brew, completed Strands with one hint, completed Wordle in three, only managed two lines on Connections (none the wiser when I saw the answers to the other two lines ... which is better than, I should have got that. Bother.)
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off for the paid stuff. I've had two enjoyable days in Job 1. Today I'm in Job 2 and then it's the weeeeekeeeennnd woot woot. First job will be to clear the table so that we can sit at it to eat on Sunday.
Have a good day.

Well, Round, re the songs. I’m currently ploughing (see what I did there?) through Larkrise to Candleford and some ofthe folk songs they sing i learned at primary school…and I joined in. vAnd I do believe we are about the same age…so, hundreds probably.
I ironed and I dusted and vacuumed in LR yesterday.
And I arranged a surprise bouquet of, I believe, Cheerfulness.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
