Chase for me, love the pots, moving money around, and of course the 1% cashback, which has recently been restricted to certain purchases, even so, myself and my partner love the service, their Chat system is excellent too, great customer service.

For me, the most important thing in a banking app is real-time cash withdrawal notifications and a user-friendly interface. Without these things, I feel like I'm losing control of my finances.
Monzo and Starling are the only banks I've used that have proper real time notifications. Halifax have notifications but they can take over an hour to show up.

My Chase notifications work fine as do Revolut, Monzo and Starling too. A while after opening the account, Hbsc seems to do it too, but if you make a bigger transfer (less than 10K, but after being flagged and having to go through the most extensive fraud call i ever had about transferring into you own account with another bank), the app cheerfully says according to our terms, we will make the transfer the next day.. Cannot recommend Hbsc.

I've just had bad experience with Halifax so I'm looking at changing account too.
I have a chase and monzo account for spending, online foreign purchases and holidays but always need a main current account as a base.

Halifax didn't do notifications, despite it being on. They never appeared for me. Requesting a payment was OK but sending money was still old fashioned where you needed their bank details, same with chase. Monzo excels here where you can just send them a link instead. Much easier.

I'd like a main bank account, one of the main High Street banks that is, which has an online banking app fully featured like these online only banks. One as good as monzo perhaps?

100% notifications, easy sending and paying requests ideally not just bank detail methods. Just nice funky apps in general really

Any other perks and bonuses are ofcourse a bonus
Natwest has all these: >100% notifications, easy sending and paying requests ideally not just bank detail methods

You can make a link for people to pay you (up to £500). Has saving pots etc. Honestly feel like they are under rated for high street bank which has all the digital bank features and they frequently are adding new stuff.

Im like you and use Chase & Barclays CC for spending/travel etc. but just use Natwest for salary and stuff.
I've had a Nat West account for over a year. I don't use it much apart from funding the regular saver.

I've read somewhere before that they have pots, and now you've said it too. I can't find any mention of this though on NW. Do they call them something else? I can't find anything that resembles pots.

I bank with NatWest and I don’t know anything about ‘pots’.

Here's an article from the NatWest website about "savings pots"

    https://www.natwest.com/life-moments/managing-your-money/cost-of-living/your-money-habits/how-a-savings-pot-could-help-you-be-ready-for-christmas.html

Seems to confirm that NatWest does not have "savings pots" (as they are usually implemented by the FinTechs).

I used Chase as a secondary account for all my every day spending but the biggest drawback I found is that there was no way of setting an alert when funds ran low so I got caught out a few times at the till, ooops!

I asked them on the chat about being able to set a notification when your balance went below a set amount of your choosing - they said it was a great idea but not currently possible.

I've just opened a TSB current account and noticed you can set an amount and when your balance goes below this they transfer the difference from your TSB saving account which is pretty nifty - I've just got to remember to put something in the saving account as a back up!

I can't see any mention of pots in my Natwest app. It tends to only be the modern banks that implement that kind of thing.

I currently bank with HSBC and until recently nationwide. It’s often the case approval notifications for payments don’t arrive and I have to restart the app. Both banks. I do get transaction alarms without issue
