I also use the Dettol stuff, leave it on ages if it's not shifting the first time.
Just a note - it is quite whiffy, I'm asthmatic and have to be careful with it, I always keep the window open when I'm using it and rinse well afterwards.0 -
Another vote for HG mould remover, brilliant stuff. Just spray and leave, no scrubbing involved.:hello:0

Thanks everyone, will try the products suggested - it won't perish the rubber?
Have a great New Year :j0 -
I use the Dettol stuff fairly regularly and I've never noticed any issues with rubber seals perishing. If you can afford a bit more then the HG stuff is fantastic, although it does seem much stronger than the Dettol stuff so be careful.0

I recently treated the mould stained sealant around the bedroom windows - plain bleach didn't work, Astonish spray (as recommended on MSE) did nothing, but a paste of bicarbonate of soda and bleach left overnight worked its magic - lovely white sealant now.0

plain bleach, squirt on the rubber and place some toilet paper on it, leave it overnight. i did this in my bathrooms and the sealant was good as new the next day..try this before you buy any other product..We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

My mum was worried that bleach and loo roll would affect the sealant. Is the sealant okay afterwards?0
