How to remove mould from bathroom sealant ? (merged threads)

My own experience shows that it is impossible to remove mould from sealant completely. I and my colleagues (professional cleaners) have tried all types of cleaning chemicals and detergents, but nothing helps if the mould has already penetrated the sealant. The only way to get rid of the mould is to remove the whole sealant and put a new one. You have to make sure that new sealant is water resistant. Bathrooms are wet areas and if you use the right type of sealant mould will occur again.0

Bleach normally helps me.0

You know the stuff - the black mould that settles in to the sealant around the bath etc
I've tried scrubbing loads, nearly to the point of wearing away the sealant...
So, does anyone know something that works!? We're moving out of our flat soon, so want to ensure its gone before the inspection!
Thanks0 -

if not try Dettol mould and mildew remover. I use this it's good stuff. It's best to spray on and leave rather than rinsimg it off0

It's excellent stuff. Stinks like hell though!0

For those that have tried the potassium permanganate and ended up with brown walls and fingers apply a solution of sodium thiosulfate and it will remove the stain.. It's a chemical reaction

I have got the HG cleaner but haven't tried it yet.
Am now motivated to try it, thanksOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

I use Lakeland's HG mould spray. It will vastly improve the problem - just spray on and leave.
A plumber once advised me that the mould that occurs in a shower only happens when 'soap' is used because of the animal fat content but not when shower gel is used.0
