I did try to revise the listing before it ended but it kept asking me for the weight of the parcel and there was nowhere to enter details.
I had no idea that eBay was such a mess now - and I've been a member since 2005.
    Incredibly frustrating.
Just checking in case I missed it, was this a ‘simple postage’ item? If so , then you can’t change anything anyway as eBay will send you a pre paid label . If you opted for buyer pays, then buyer will be charged, if seller pays then the cost of the label is taken from your balance.
No, when I list I always change to 'advanced postage' and then choose either RM LL Tracked 48 or RM SP Tracked 48.
At the moment, I don't have a printer so when an item is sold and paid for, I write out the address label and take it to the Post Office.
I have nothing to do with eBay postage at all.

    OK, thanks.
At least it's not me then.

I can't get to talk to a real person through the help function.
It just takes me to the auto help which just regurgitates the same unhelpful rubbish.

If there a customer service number that I can ring?

    Thanks
eBay's automated help is rubbish: I just cut&paste "talk to agent" in response to every question it asks until it eventually gives in.

AIUI ebay has (or will be during this month) removed that option. No, that's not an April fool!

You will have to use their process, if that's less convenient, more expensive or not flexible enough, well tough [is their position].

In that case, I'll take a look how it will affect me and if necessary, end all my listings and xfer to Vinted.
    So...tough on you, eBay.

Even if you do get through to an agent they won't help, or else give you false info just to get you off th eline.

However as has been said, invoices don't look possible anymore for private sellers, all you can do is let them pay and just use the refund system to refund some, I have to do that if I currently combine postage.

Unfortunately, again as has been said, going forward it is unlikely to be possible to use your own postage at all.I suspect if you leave ebay you won't be the only one, but as private sellers don't make up much of their income, but I suspect a lot of their staff time, they almost certainly won't care at all.

But at least it'll make me feel better...😛

I'm out all day today so I'll look at my options tomorrow.
    Thanks all.

You've got about a week, so a bit  of time to read up about it and decide whether you can make it work or not

OK, so I'm unsure how this so-called 'simple delivery' works.

Can't you sell on eBay if you want to post a parcel but don't have a printer or smartphone? Is there an alternative?

I've only ever used Royal Mail as carrier and either printed the label and attached it to the parcel or hand wrote the label (after my printer died) and dropped off at the Post Office.
I've never used Inpost or Yodel or Evri.

If I choose RM and they send me a QR code, do I just take my parcel to the Post Office and they print the label from the QR code?

Is it the same for Yodel & Evri?.
I've collected lots of parcels from Yodel and Evri at local shops - do they have the facilities to print labels when I drop off parcels?

    What about Inpost?

I have a number of active listings at the moment.
Will they carry on as the old system (i.e. I sell an item, hand write the label and take to the post office) or  will eBay migrate my listings to 'simple postage'?

    Oh eBay!
If it ain't broke, don't fiddle with it until it is broke.

    Thanks for any help.

No, it won't be possible except for any exempt items - and we are waiting for a full announcement about them. It is likely, but not yet confirmed to be LL size under 100g and £10 , and items over 20kg.

SD only uses Evri or RM, there is no seller choice except to be able to opt out of one or other of those options- which then increases the cost of the other (nope, no idea why!) in both options you get a QR code or a printable label, and can choose which to use.

If I choose RM and they send me a QR code, do I just take my parcel to the Post Office and they print the label from the QR code?

Yes that's right, same for Evri.

Is it the same for Yodel & Evri?.

Neither Yodel nor Inpost are currently an option on SD

According to the announcement these will automatically switch over to SD only on the 15th - which I feel to be wildly optimistic of ebay.

I have replied within your post - my responses are in bold.

It's a long thread, but there is quite a lot of useful information in here including the announcements, rate charts and people expressing concerns about accessability.
