Now checked my options going forward and EON Next drive is slightly better, but for £16 not worth for changing to them.

compared Flux 1/25 Flux 4/25 IOF 4/25 and EON Nextdrive and for historical purposes Flux 4/24

EON has £72 more SC, than Octopus. Lucky escape for Octopus…. IOF for now, assuming I can get the switch to work, failed earlier, but I want to start on the first of April(you might think more fool me🤗).

Thanks, I think this makes the important point which is that what works best for some doesn't necessarily work best for others. I expect that these intelligent tariffs will be a good long term option for those with compatible systems. My export tariff changes to EOn on 1st April so I guess that makes me a fool too

I started the switch process with EOn last week on their Next exclusive SEG deal .

The SEG application was fine, but I wanted to move the entire account including Electricity for the SEG and Gas to Eon also. I asked for the rates, but was instead informed it was due to switch 9th April, and they could not provide Import rates until I had moved, which is bizzare.

Went through 3 advisors and got the same script. They suggested not to worry as theres a cooling off period but that would put me in limbo if I didn't like it.

I am at a loss why they could not simply have provided me with the lot so I could do the number crunching knowing what I was getting.

Frankly, I gave up and decided to stay with Octopus as it was fairly marginal, and the hit isn't as bad at moment as I'm getting a decent rate on post 4pm, & daily average about 12.5P/Kwh after juggling with system. Better having a company thats transparent.

Admittedly I am new to  SPV.  but interesting to find out how this is working with someone who has the full Utilities package with Eon, or if they like me consider this is unethical.

I didn't switch gas as I'm on a fix with Octopus which they couldn't match. I'd have thought switching import first (either or both) then export would be the way to go - everyone seems to do it that way. Otherwise you'd have to claim their lower rate SEG for non-customers first before switching to their 16.5p rate. It went very smoothly that way for me. Eonnext have a perfectly transparent tariffs page, which personally I find rather easier to use than the Octopus one.

Using my Q2 '24 data with the new Q2 Flux rates and fixed import (23.73p) / fixed export (15p) it would appear that I would be 100% better off (over £50) by migrating. I'll run the numbers to include Q3 and the whole year as well however after almost 2 years, it looks like Octopus have scuttled Flux for me and it's time to change. Anyone else come to a similar conclusion?

Yes, I have just moved to Octopus Agile import combined with Octopus outgoing for Export (fixed at 15p/kWh). It was the cut in daytime rate to below 10p that did it for me. I have solar panels but no battery so I will now have to take my chances with expensive evening slots but at least during the summer solar covers some of my consumption  and from what I have seen recently the tea time rates have been similar to peak Flux import.🤞

Same here. With west (and east) facing panels the increase in peak rate is good, however the 10p day rate is a huge cut in my import payments, especially as 80% of my export is at day rate. I wouldn't be surprised if other Flux customers follow suit.

So I've just applied Octopus fixed import / export rates to my last four quarters data, and compared to the new Flux rates I would be approximately £225 better off moving to the fixed rates. Bye, bye Flux...

If I want to swap from agile export to the flat rate export, do I really need to upload all my documents again?  They already have copies as I am already with them under the agile export tariff!

I phoned and Octopus told me I could only make the switch on line and the only way to do that is to follow the whole procedure and upload documents. As you have to apply for both import and export tariffs separately you will probably then find you get a message saying your chosen tariff is not compatible with Flux. After several emails I rang Octopus again and they transferred me manually, which is what I had asked them to do in the first place.
