Good morning,

I’ve just read the newbies threads & I’m still non the wiser so please any help would be so appreciated as I’m genuinely scared & worried as I’m quite an anxious person.

I’ve received an email this morning from DCBLTD regarding an unpaid parking fine for which I’ve received no previous communications. Their saying a letter was sent to my work address as the car is through my works lease car holder scheme. I’ve had nothing from work to say this either & called them too but they are non the wiser.

The fine is already £170 which makes me extremely anxious if I don’t pay it, but I need some help.

The fine, is for overstaying the car parks allocated time frame of 3 hours. This isn’t true. I did go into the car park on the morning of alleged offence, to drop my son to his Grandparents for the day. I then immediately left & went to a school visit as I’m children’s social worker, then went to another meeting after that. I did return to the car park 4 hours later to get some bits from the shop. I believe the car park hasn’t registered that I’ve left & then came back.

Also the school I visited can supply evidence that I signed in at their school within an hour of me dropping my son off. But DCBLTD are saying it now too late to appeal this parking fine.

Honestly I’m so worried & nervous please somebody help. Please see below email I received this morning.

Kind regards

What did the landowner of the car park say when you contacted them and asked them to get the parking company to cancel the INVOICE ( notice - I did not say fine - because it's not a fine ).

Have you researched the concept of "double dip" and explained this to the car parking company as the keeper of the vehicle ( do not admit to being the driver ).

Whatever else - do not pay.

By the way - do not worry - this is what these companies will try and do - there is another thread on here of of the nearly 500 similar cases where DCBL have cried off once they realise they won't get any money and are too scared of going to court themselves - they are all empty threats.

Thank you ever so much for your reply. I haven’t done anything yet, as I was too worried & wasn't sure after reading the forums of what to do first & the right way to go about it.

I haven’t contacted the landowner yet, the email only came first thing this morning. Also never heard of double dip either.

I haven’t paid, I wont ever pay this as I know it’s wrong.

What should I do next? I work such long hours & just feel so nervous about getting things right even though I know this is wrong.

    Which car park was it?

It may have cropped up on this site before.

The letter you have got there is from a debt collection team - they have no power can't do anything despite calling themselves "bailiffs" which they are not - it's just another scare tactic.

You have passed the first test - which is to say you are not going to pay.

It’s called Kingsley Village in Fraddon, Cornwall.

Honestly, I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to help. The school I visited in between emailed to say also, they’re able to provide written evidence of me signing in to a school half an hour away during the alleged time too.

I really appreciate you helping me.

you can look at this thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/80807352#Comment_80807352?utm_source=community-search&utm_medium=organic-search&utm_term=double+dip+orphan+images

The debt collectors will say that you can't appeal - but can can contact the PPC.

This usually happens when there is ANPR cameras on site - but I did a quick check on google street view and I cant see any - I presume you parked by the M&S / Next Car Park?

I just read that. Definitely a case of double dipping.

PPC? How I contact these to appeal or make this go away?

Yeah I would’ve parked in the M&S/Next bit the second time around when I popped into the shop, but the first time would’ve been over the road in there overflow bit which they share with McDonalds etc.

What should be my first step?

Honestly, just thank you so much for your help. I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate it.

I’ve just now received a load of emails with attachments from this company. The letters show they’ve gone to Arnold Clark the lease company, then my work Cornwall Council.

It’s shows the last letter of which I’ve not received on the 20th Feb is a “Notice to Hirer”.

What does this mean now? Shall I send you these correspondences in here now?

The reason being, it’s a lease car. It was sent to the leasing the company first then to my employers. The first I’ve heard of it was today. The alleged offence was on the 16/12/24.
