Yesterday's trip to the theatre was nice. Not great theatre but good fun and so nice of my guests to treat me. I bought them ice cream in the interval.
I woke up with a headache, clearly dehydrated and annoyed I got dehydrated. Water is free for goodness sake!
A busy morning as I was out before 8am. A good walk on the seafront and picked up a good amount of YS goodies at marksies...including a small birthday cake sell by today but I've put it in a sealed vacuum bag and stuck it in the fridge as I am keeping it until Monday (one of the guests birthday so I will present in the evening)
I bought batteries for my scales as my guests requested to weigh their luggage on the way out.
I took my bike to the repair shop but it was closed. Will go somewhere tomorrow for a new pump. It only needs a tyre pumping up!
The guest arrived with nice coffee. We have been having a marksies chai tea after meals. They like it, so I bought them a box each to take home next week
So, I weighed myself and I knew I had gained weight but it isn't as bad as I thought. I need to lose 1 stone and 5lbs to be back in a healthy range. It feels doable and as soon as I knew my weight I started thinking more mindfully. My route will be a weekly weigh in and posting losses (or gains...) on here. I finally checked my BP a few weeks ago and that is good. I'm going to be kicking simple carbs to the kerb, eating in a 8 hour window and being more active. If after a fortnight that doesn't pay dividends I will get more 'diet-y' Seeing how energetic @jwil is as she loses weight and becomes more active is motivating me!
A high dose (EPA) quality fish oil and 7 prunes a day have a good evidence base for protecting bone density, so I will restart that and try to stick to it until it is a habit. I will also restart some basic exercises that use my body weight (like press-ups and squats) I want to lose weight not muscle. I've been looking for a yoga chart that is somewhere that I'd like laminated so I can do one round of a salutation to the sun in the morning and in the evening too...
Bad news is the wardrobe sold. My own fault. I was too indecisive. At least I know what I want now so will keep looking. In the meantime I will be using a basket near the front door for excess shoes...
Soup today as guests away and it will be an easy one for their return
I will clear the plants at the front of the house and dig over the pots ready for new things. I'd like to clean the window and door but we will see...
Not going out again until tomorrow!
Happy Saturday!

There will be a reason behind you missing out on the wardrobe. Whether thats you find something better or cheaper, need to use the money for something else or just to accept the life lesson of grabbing something when it appears.
The new hosting sounds great.2 -
Thanks @Sun_Addict I would be happy to start 2026 with that 1 stone 5lb gone so gone by Christmas would be fine
Thanks @Spendless I love your post
So, up early as guests off on a day trip. So carpe diem-ed with the front of the house. Windows cleaned, door cleaned, swept, pots cleared and cut back, watered, front of house washed down with disinfectant. When it is dry out there I will sweep my part of the street too.
Two lots of washing done and out drying
Dishwasher loaded
Not bad for 9.20am.
No cooking tonight as they will eat out where they are.
Will be treating myself to breakfast, some nice organic tomatoes, beans, bacon and mushrooms with the nonsense in the supplements of the paper . I will have a long catch up call with a mate later.
No froggy type things today. I might go for a walk in the little park I made such a fuss about living near to but rarely visit!

Sounds a perfect day! Up early, jobs done & the rest of the day to relax. And it's another glorious day - well, it is here & hopefully it is where you are too.

Really happy you have found a business adventure and you have your first booking . On the river cruise yesterday I was speaking to another lady , she gave me an idea for another income stream that I am researching. It’s another hot day here .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.2

What a lovely long list of accomplishments. I empathise entirely with feeling better if the kitchen (and bathroom) is tidy and clean. Mine is rather big which is lovely for cooking but several surfaces become dumping grounds if I am not careful. I am trying to do the 'put it away rather than putting it down' technique as I am one of the worst offenders in the first place, and then if a pile is begun others seem to add contributions. I have tackled two places today and rehomed all the strays, and found a couple of solutions for things like stamps saved for I the RNIB and upcoming post for surveys.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300
