Living Large, on a Small Income, by the Sea.

One of the people on a delivery route told me he was blasé about his sea view now and I looked at him like he was mad.
Still love mine even though its just a ribbon of blue most days3 -
I am moving through my To Do list at a snails pace...
I swept the front of the house and tidied up the plants and containers. Did I wash any windows, doors, paintwork? Nope...
I went for a long walk with a few friends. I wanted to sound them out about an idea. I can now see the idea I wanted to discuss, is a displacement activity...there are other things I ought to be doing...
I found an exercise class that specialises in backs. Mine feels a bit twingey again, so I wonder if the new yoga group has been unhelpful. The new class is tomorrow evening...
I walked up a biggish hill in another walk to buy some shopping...a white hydrangea for the garden. Treated myself to crisps and bubbles and a few other (more essential) food items...spent £48...I still seem to be overspendingSpending feels like crisps at the moment, in that once you've opened the packet it is hard to stop.
I have a large dustbin I used for storage in the garden. I am trying to think of a use for it in my small garden?
I also have lots of garden tools in the garden. I'm thinking of giving them away. I can't see myself ever having a large garden again so only really need hand tools. After storing so much for years 'just in case' I'm tempted to just get rid of stuff more often.
Tomorrow the plan is to keep to the plan: clean windows, sweep back garden. Wash a load and put it out to dry, weather permitting.- contact BB provider
- set up SO for water
- set up SO for CT
More importantly, I need to make progress on getting some money in! I seem paralysed on this so the plan here is to list 3 actions a day that take me closer to my goal. Tomorrow they are:- find the contact details one festival organiser
- send an email to a known theatre contact
- find an old phone

Good luck with getting some money in. Could you sell the spare tools on FBk and any other surplus items. You could then put that towards wants or the CC.

Hi Dia - just a thought about your large bin - is it water tight? If so you can get a water butt kit for around £1 from discount shops, and attach the bin to your gutters, and save lots on watering your garden in the summer - the water can be a bit smelly but the plants never seem to mind 😊

Thanks @beanielou
Thanks @savingholmes The WM is great! Good idea to sell things but I faff when selling and don't really have the connections here, so thinking just get rid?
Thanks @SuzeQStan it doesn't have a lid, also garden is seriously small so no space for anything but the absolutely essential. I already have 3 bins so getting rid of the one I don't like most!
I feel I've been productive. I've also read a bit and enjoyed reading by natural light. I realise I usually have high expectations for what I can fit into a day and I'm mostly being unrealistic. I enjoyed today's pace, although I've been in all day so will go out for a walk later. It will be a short walk, just enough time to see the sea and breathe in the ions- sorted paperwork.

Is there a 'library of things' or a community repair shop that you could donate things to? Local allotment society?
I am not good at selling things either. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I gave away a big bin on Ol!o last year - took about 30 seconds to snap a photo and within about 5 minutes someone requested it and collected it 1/2hr later. It’s amazing what people want and will collect

Thanks @SuzeQStan and Thanks @redofromstart for the options
Today has been a fire-fighting day so nothing on my list was done!
An insurance policy has not been in payment unknown to me for 5 weeks!!
The error was with the bank and they accept this, but I only found out by accident. I have spent most of the day trying to sort this out. The bank will be in touch tomorrow.
I did two wash loads first thing and they are out drying
I spoke to a friend to organise a walk on Monday
I contacted someone who is going to clear some things from the garden. They didn't turn up, but called to say they would come tomorrow instead.
I spent an hour looking up insurance deals in a lovely communal space by the sea, instead of stressing by myself at home. Got a little walk in too.
I left the kitchen spotless last night so it was lovely to walk into it to make my coffee this morning (must do this more often)
Both festivals got back to me. One said they use a specific hotel, but there might be occasions they could use me. The other said yes and send some pics. Going to take the pics first thing tomorrow when the light is right
I received an unexpected extra £150 so I paid that straight to my CC, so no interest for me this month
I have a friend visiting tomorrow so can't revisit my list until Friday
