Dia, agree with pip and others about the traipsing strangers🤣, I also thought this, personally I don't let anyone in my house who would dare have such thoughts and any income generating ones that you do have, well, their thoughts are paid for and in your bank lol

Don't delay and buy the wardrobe before someone else nabs it! You know you'll regret it if you don't. It's your house and if you think it'll work well stuff what any visitors think.

Another vote for doing what you like in your own home! If it's a lovely piece of furniture that will complement the room, provide you with useful storage, make you smile when you look at it, and reflect your individuality and personality, then go for it. There's no reason your home has to look like the ikea/cotswold/insert brand of choice catalogue.

I have an ancient chest of drawers in my dining room. No one has asked me yet why I have a chest of drawers in the dining room. Or commented on the ink stain that has been polished into it, or the clear marks from where it was at some point cut in two to make it easier to transport/fit somewhere... And it's none of their business. I love it :) (I keep the fly screens for the double doors in it, as well as candles, place mats, and napkins).

Maybe take your own coffee to sit on the seafront with? In a flask or cup that stays hot

I keep a tin of woodworm treatment in stock... anything that comes into the house gets cleaned and then doused in it :) Wood worm moves slowly, and prefers damp to dry - but clearly if there is too much then it isn't worth the risk (particularly as it can impact on the stability/durability of the object itself). Hopefully the perfect item will appear now that you know what you're after.

You are probably right and that is my thought too, but my home is damper than I would like it to be...it isn't worth the risk and I am sure to see another. As you say, I know what I am after now  :)
