I'm drip feeding a sizable sum, targeting about 70% equities. Slowed the flow over the last two month's, but looking to open up the tap again at some point. I'm currently at about 15%. Any tips on catching a falling knife 😬

With my 85% equity holding and a lot of US stocks I'm losing bucket loads every day. But I'm loving the silver lining of Tesla's plunge and a possible US recession. Then I think of all the people that this will really hurt and my schadenfreude turns more to anger and sadness. And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.3

The guy whose entire pension is in ITV shares will be along in a minute to say he’s cashed out and bought Tesla1

Some US companies were already stockpiling from last July onwards. Seems that they weren't going to risk disruption to their trade should Trump come to power.3 -

Comments such as 'I'm down 8%', are pretty meaningless. At the point of writing this, the S&P500 is still up 9.7% on a year, the FTSE all-world index up 8.3% on year and the FTSE100 up 11.38% on year.
The way I tend to look at this, is to say to myself, "Oh well!, I'm back to where I was last December" (or whatever).
That having been said, having recently retired and happy with my total, I de-risked my exposure to the US markets in recent months and put about £150k into STMM funds just for this very reason. Overall, long term, I'll probably not be any better off, but I like to sleep easy. I will almost certainly take a punt and start buying back in at some point, but we've only seen a very modest drop so far, I'm thinking more like 25%, but we'll see.4
