B&B Internet Saver 2 - 6.40% AER - Confirmed

I usually do the 1st transfer at a low value (say £10) to check it all works okay (and activates the account). Then move the rest of the money into the higher paying account and close the old one.
Works with most building societies - B&B aren't the only ones that play this game. We just have to grit our teeth and play our own games back. :rolleyes20 -
I've just received a letter from them. It appears to be my fault, the first name didnt match because on the new application I didnt put use my full name.
I've encountered this problem too. I phoned to see why the account wasn't appearing and after being cut off once and transferred from pillar to post the second time, I was eventually told it was because when I'd opened the first account I'd given my title as Miss. and when I'd opened the new account I'd used Ms. I pointed out that in order to open the second account I'd had to give the number of the first account but to no avail.
They apparently wrote to me on 4th Jan to confirm that both Miss. tipsychick and Ms. tipsychick of the same address and date of birth are indeed one and the same tipsychick. Needless to say, I haven't had the letter yet.
How utterly pathetic!0 -
My second account has now finally been acknowledged and up & running. Before I transfer from the one now at 6.15% AER to the new higher rate one, will I lose any interest I have already earned for this month please?0

No you will not lose any interest by moving the money now.

I applied for the 6.8 ebond the day before the rates went down. It's finally showing online today. Before I transfer any money, how can I be sure I'm getting the 6.8% rather than 6.5 %?0

I think transfer into the ebond is a one-off affair only, when you open it? It won't accept further money in.0

Thanks to OP for the heads up - how do u know when the rate changes? I havent had any comms from B&B since I opened the internet saver1 account a cpl months ago. Is it just a case of checking the website every month after BOE rate decisions?0

Internet Saver (1) is still listed as 6.4% on B&B site0
