thanks Tigerite, I'd never have worked that out. B & B don't seem very forthcoming on how to do this, its as if they don't want you to transfer money to the higher interest account (silly of me, I know...)0
-
are B&B deliberatley introducing a new account on a weekly basis to purposely trap most people in poor interest rate accounts? It looks like it to me.0
-
I opened a new Internet Saver 2 and transferred all my funds from the Internet Saver 1 account without any problems.
Fingers crossed that the MPC do not drop rates on Thursday otherwise we'll probably have to go through this all over again with the Internet Saver 3 account0 -
Im still waiting for my new account to appear. I opened it Sunday0

the account then appears next day alongside your other accounts with inter account transfer option0 -
I also followed those instructions to the letter on Friday afternoon, the account didn't appear for me till Monday evening. I did however add an external account during the registration phase which Pauli recommended not to in a later post; I doubt it made any difference though.
Oh, I did also send them an email late on Monday afternoon, and soon after that I got a confirmation email about their having received my application - up till that point, they hadn't been in touch at all, so it might be worth a try?0 -
hmmm ... worked again for me, account appeared NEXT DAY, and I transferred monies from internet saver the same day and received welcome letter today !!!0

For info, below reply from B&B about how to transfer your Internet Saver 1 account to Internet Saver 2 (I'd already followed PauliPauli and Tigerite's advice and done it successfully anyway....
)
1. From our home page at www.bradford-bingley.co.uk, click on the Online option which can be found towards the bottom of the screen under the Savings heading.
2. Click on the Info button which is located next to the Internet Saver heading.
3. This page displays all the information about this account. If you are happy with this, you can click the Apply Now button towards the bottom of the page.
4. You will be taken to the secure application form which will ask you for your personal information as well as information about opening your account. Simply follow this form through and fill in the information requested.
5. On the first page of the application your existing account number will be requested, please enter the seven digits which are located in the middle of your thirteen-digit account number. If you have more than one account number, please enter the one attached to your newest eSavings account.
6. Later on during the application you will be asked how you would like to fund the account. There is no option to choose to fund the account using money from your eSavings account, however if you select the Cheque option and enter a value of ??1 it will allow you to continue with the application process. Please note that this will not mean that we require a cheque from you, this is simply a requirement in order to be able to continue with the application.
7. Once you have completed the application your new account will be matched up to your existing user ID, and providing there are no problems with your application, your new account will be available to view within four working days.
8. Finally you can move your funds across to your Internet Saver account by logging in to your existing account and selecting Money Out. In the list of destination accounts you will see your new Internet Saver account number (starting with 20A). If you choose to move the whole balance of your account then the confirmation screen will ask if you are sure you wish to close your account. Leaving the box ticked will close your account and transfer any accrued interest over to your new Internet Saver account.0 -

I didn't nominate a linked account when opening Internet Saver 2. Looking at the opened account now, its automatically chosen the linked account I set up for Internet Saver 1 anyway. I guess if you've nominated an account they'll wait for a new DD to be set up, even though its the same account you used before (that of course would me madness, which makes it all the more believable ...)0
