OK, so things didnt exactly go to plan:(
In a nutshell I have failed one of my AAT exams so will have to re-sit in December which also means that I cannot start the university final honours year of my degree.......
Yesterday I was totally gutted, today I am feeling a bit better but still feel like an idiot as I thought I had done OK in the exam.
Maybe its a good thing in a way as I am not totally excited at the thought of a degree in accounting and finance anyway and would literally be doing it just to improve my career prospects should I be made redundant from work. Gives me time to think and reflect on what I actually want to do.
Being free of the mortgage debt would allow either me or OH to persue a career change if we wanted to so maybe I should just keep the pressure off myself studywise and concentrate on the job I have.
Not much going on in moneymaking land but I did sell the wardrobe for £30:)
Had a good chat with a couple of fantastic friends yesterday and do you know what? I am doing OK, better than OK. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by some of the dedicated members of this and other forums and I tend to compare myself to them. This needs to Stop!
I am going to do the best I can with the time I have and try to have some quality of life along the way, not constantly studying, worrying, striving for a better position at work and comparing myself to others.
I am going to use this diary more as a place for reflection rather than a list of "things I should be doing".
Just trying to strike a balance here:)But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

So so true hun.
I ordered new shoes yesterday & refuse to beat myself up.
I need them & have a thing about tacky shoes because of the way I walk.Just because some peeps seem to be able to never buy anything is right for them & not for me.
I think you are doing fantastically well.

A nice long weekend for us with the bank holiday today:)
Recieved a nice suprise of £50 in Sainsburys vouchers due to me changing home insurance provider and £70 payout due on Tuesday from Quidco. A nice boost to the Christmas/Birthday money neutral pot.
Very worried about OH job (again) as they have had to be paid late this month and were initially told that they would only recieve 80% of their salary. They are actually going to get the whole amount due but things are starting to become really desperate at his workplace.
My workplace is no better with threats of redundancies and reduced hours in every department. Lets hope that we have floods of students next week otherwise I know I will be targeted for the very least a reduction in hours.
We have looked at our finances and thankfully we could still manage if OH wasnt working and I was full time and vice-versa even if I was only working PT we should get help from TC and DS1 would get EMA.
Our immediate plan of action is to batten down the hatches and should the worst happen we have a little bit of a cash cushion to help us ride out the storm. In a dire emergency we can always draw back some of the overpayments we have made on the mortgage too (it would litereally kill me to do it but its there should we need it).
So no matter what happens, all is not lost:)But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0
