Blooming Asda delivery drivers are wimps:mad: I have not been out this week as i have had the flu so I did a full online shop to be delivered today but they have rang and cancelled due to the snow.

My bottled gas delivery was also cancelled.........................still got my post though.

I am going away for the weekend for our Christmas visit to SIL in Lancashire so now I have to try and fit in a food shopping trip tomorrow or Sunday when we get back.

Wimps the lot of them. OH has got to work and the boys have got to school only to be turned away after almost an hour of travelling through the snow.

When did we get so soft when a little bit of snow falls:confused:
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Well the snow has frozen over but it is now raining so it should all be gone soon.

My base rate traker mortgage will go down to 2.24% as of next month:j Definitely the time to pour money into overpayments for us while it is so low.

I am trying to work out whether I should start putting a little a month back into my S&S isa which I froze payments in August. I am wondering if I should still be drip feeding a small amount in there to invest when prices are quite low. The money isnt planned to be needed until about 10-15 years time.

I would also like to build our savings to 6 months salary as OH job is still uncertain although he will get a redundancy payment of around £8K if he is made redundant and any mortgage overpayments can be claimed back if needed (dire emergency).

Lots to think about but I will be setting my targets soon, already plan to overpay mortgage by £6480 to reach my Mfi5 target.

I have managed to get 2 sets of tickets to see the fabulous Morrissey next year, it is my only indulgence and something I am passionate about, there are things that I will give up for my mortgage free quest but passing on an opportunity to see my idol is not one of them:p

I have been looking for a reasonable priced holiday for next year too, we were fancying France again but with the ferry prices being more expensive and the Euro rate so pants we have plumped for a holiday in Cornwall.

Nice Hoseasons holiday park near Newquay which I think we will enjoy, total cost of £575 for the week in July next year, have booked it via quidco and got £26 cashback:T

Well thats it, the last payments for this year have cleared so I can see just how much progress I have made............

    Starting Balance 31st Dec 2007 £56648
    Payments Made £6198
Closing Balance 31st Dec 2008 £50450:j Almost under the 50k mark

Of the £6198 paid £3740 were overpayments.
