Hi LJ,
Well done on the OPs:j0 -
Hello everyone
I have made the decision to completely close down my part time business due to personal reasons and the fact that I am not enjoying it anymore at all. I have no heart in it anymore and coming home from work or on a weekend and then having to start on someones bookwork is just too much for me at the moment.
Sometimes you just have to take stock and even though the extra money is good....the price on my personal life is too high:o
What, are you trying to say you are having a life  . Did you get permission from here 1st.
We all need to remember why we are doing this - so we are not 'wage slaves' - but we mustn't make ourselves 'wage slaves' in the process of not being 'wage slaves' IFKWIM.........:o
It's because you're in control of things you can do this, so well done :T :T :T :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Thanks for that response:A ...I do feel a bit guilty as some forum members are doing everything in their power to make extra money and I am just giving it up so to speak....but I feel that I have definately made the right decision for me and my family. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
July already and its the month of the Florida Holiday which I am so excited about:j
Excitement is a little tainted by the fact that OH came home from work last night to inform me that his place of work had a meeting of which the outcome was that they are being put on a 4 day week as of now. They said is is only for 8 weeks but we are going to be around £230 down a month in his wages due to this.
We havent got payment protection insurance and although it is quite expensive we really should think about covering ourselves just incase the "R" word crops up, which up to now the workplace says is not on the cards for my OH's job.
There are just so many bad reports about it and you cant claim in the first six months of cover might head over to the insurance threads to pick their brains. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

I have been making overpayments since I got my mortgage, but have had to draw down a number of times so then have to start again:mad: (Well ,it's not that I have had to, more a case of trying to sort other peoples debts out) but have learnt my lesson, well nearly. So if at any time I mention doing it again perhaps everyone can shout at me "NO HEREWEGO, DON'T DO IT!" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well, I thought it was about time I got my thoughts into attacking the Mortgage with both engines on full throttle!
I had a lovely holiday in Florida and thankfully I had covered all costs so no CC debt to come home to.
Here is the current situation:
Main Mortgage = £45023
Additional Borrowing on Mortgage = £7724
Total Owing as at 31/07/08 = £52747
Total Owed at 01/01/08 = £56829
If I keep to my overpayments of £350 a month I will be Mortgage free by December 2014 Actually it will be the next working day to the 25/12/14 what a Christmas that will be:D
I am also execting some news soon that may change everything though:rolleyes: but if it goes to plan I will be able to up my overpayments but I dont want to Jinks myself by divulging just yet;)
I am still doing the old Mystery Shops but need to get back into Ebaying to boost the funds for the mortgage pot.
Seem to be still on track:T back soon when I have my news:DBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

Balance as at 31/08/24 = £105,400.00 Balance as at 31/12/24 = £102,500.00

OK I have the news I was waiting for but its not as straightforward as first thought.
I was sort of offered a full time position at work but this was pending it being OK with the powers that be. At the moment I am only part time and am not teaching my base subjects which I will be doing in the new job but I have to apply for it which at first I thought I wouldnt have to.
So........I am on filling out the application form and should get an interview next week if I am a suitable candidate.:D
Fingers crossed that I get it as the hours suit my lifestyle/school runs which will be 5 mornings and 3 evening classes.
If I get the security of permanent full time work I will also be able to allocate a set amount every month for mortgage overpayments as I will know exactly how much will be coming in.But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0
