What is it about motorhomes, we want one as well? Must be the escapism part of it I guess. Friends downsized & bought one, I nearly crashed the car when I drove past one night and they were sat in the camper, watching TV & drinking wine - on the drive. They reasoned they had to get their monies worth. A client of mine has just come back from 6 weeks in Spain in theirs, had a look inside & it looks the business. They advised to go for one of these http://www.mclouismotorhomes.co.uk/ as they are good value for money.

Thanks for that Jorgan. LOL about your friends using theirs on the drive.

It became a regular thing, they even had people round & sat in the camper.

This motorhome thing is getting out of hand, I was asked to have a look at my mechanics latest purchase (I'm in the owners club & now a lot about the cars, so he wanted my opinion on his purchase). I get down to the garage & he was servicing a motorhome, huge thing, I spent longer looking at the motor home than his car.

I agree with you there. I am now spotting said motorhomes everywhere and giving my opinion to whoever may be in the car with me whether or not I would like that particular one or not. I know that very soon I will just happen to find myself in a showroom:rolleyes:

Well I am off this morning to do a Mystery shop and pay in some money off the mortgage. I have managed to find the full £350 to overpay for May and already have some towards the June overpayment.

OH and I have been discussing what to do with our Isa money and whether we should pay that off the mortgage too. We have decided against it as he pointed out that in the next couple of years we will probably have to replace one of the cars and the house does need some updating.

Oldest son will be leaving school next May too so Uni beckons quite possible:rolleyes: that wont be cheap.

So we are going to plod on with our save some, spend some, overpay some strategy. Next month will be my sixth month overpayment so I will have a good look at how I have done and if it has been worth it.

I have managed to resist so far:D

I have joined the Neutral 2008 Christmas thread to give myself a challenge of paying for Christmas via means such as Vouchers and Money from survey sites/reward sites, Ebay sales free gifts, comp wins etc and I will also be using any interest earned from my and OH current accounts which usually is around £4-5 per month each.

I will still be putting aside £40 per month for the Christmas budget just as a back up and what ever I dont spend can go off the Mortgage for my month 12 payment.

    Hi LouiseJ

For years I've used a goldfish credit card for work expenses which always had a pretty good points scheme and I usually cash these in for vouchers for Christmas and don't have much to add to it (my work expenses are quite considerable) but...... I've just read that since barclaycard took them over recently they've stopped this scheme; my most recent statement is showing that points are still accruing but I must give them a call and see what it happening on the points front

    Hello everyone

Just blowing several layers of dust from my thread..........but that doesnt mean to say that I have been neglecting my Mortgage overpayments because I HAVE NOT!!

I have made my sixth month of overpayments this week and am 56% on target for the year so I am a little ahead.

The new job is going great and I am really enjoying the new experience but I am still trying to get to grips with the new budget.

I have made the decision to completely close down my part time business due to personal reasons and the fact that I am not enjoying it anymore at all. I have no heart in it anymore and coming home from work or on a weekend and then having to start on someones bookwork is just too much for me at the moment.

Working out my budget I can still make my £350 monthly overpayment and I will continue to do extra stuff like Mystery Shopping as I am enjoying carrying those out.

Sometimes you just have to take stock and even though the extra money is good....the price on my personal life is too high:o

I promise to update more regularly from now on:D
