    Conversion presumably

I thought they already did charge you in local currency? Or maybe thats just an AmEx thing as merchants seem to have problems knowing the currency of AmEx cards.

No different from paying for any other goods and services abroad with a "user friendly" card.

"No Preferred Currency" seems an odd wording.  I wonder if it would be safer to set to "Euro" if you are in the Euro zone (and have a preferential FX rate card) for example?

(I don't have the new option in my app yet in any case)

Then if you used it in the UK or the USA your fare would be converted to Euro (with a markup) and then charged to your card.

Understood - I meant switching depending on your location (Euro zone, USA, Canada, or £ for rest of world).

Has this  "No Preferred Currency" option been rolled out yet?  Nothing is appearing in the Wallet section of the app and it is middle of March.

  • Has anyone actually managed to find the "No Preferred Currency" option? If so, please tell me how.

Hi @mustardtree6 and @thewoodworker, I've been following up on this with Uber. Can either of you see the 'No Preferred Currency' option yet?
