Yep no need to buy a new hat!

There will be no hearing. We can't wait to see your Notice of Discontinuance later this year.

    Just checking-
I don’t have to answer/return the incessant calls from DCB legal?

I assume it’s one of their wonderful tactic calls to attempt to frighten me into ‘settling’ 🙄😂

Correct. They know they don’t have a case and won’t want to go in front of a judge. Just ignore and wait for their inevitable discontinuance before they have to pay for the hearing.

Yes. This is normal. The claim will end up discontinued before the hearing this year.

    Just play the game:

Follow the easy 8 steps covered in the Template Defence sticky thread. No link is needed to the NEWBIES FAQS thread - which you must also read post 2 of, especially the red heading IMPORTANT: KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN'. Read that now.

See my signature below if you need a reminder how to hop straight to page one but I see you've been posting for a while, so this could not be easier once you bookmark the Template Defence thread to follow the 8 steps. And read the IMPORTANT section in the NEWBIES thread too.

We don't want to know (at all) about Mediation (all this stuff is covered in the 8 steps). What we do collect are pictures of the Notices of Discontinuance for Umkomaas' thread, so we'll see you again in the Summer/Autumn when you strut proudly back here with your win!

I really it was illegal for firms like DCB Legal to contact defendants who they've filed an active claim against, other than what is required by the court process and rules.

Such contact should attract steep penalties, like 99% of the legal's CEO's full remuneration for a period covering 5 years before the claim date per call/letter/email/text.

The rules say that parties can contact one another to negotiate a settlement, but I would block DCB Legal's number and report them to the ICO as unwanted and harassing calls.  The ICO probably won't do anything but it's still worth trying.

  • I have my date for mediation in March.

I continue to get calls (5) and voicemails (2) telling me to URGENTLY contact them. I’ve even blocked the number but they manage to still leave voicemails. Hyenas.

I discovered this recently when someone, allegedly O2, kept calling me. I blocked the number but they were able to leave voicemails. Upon checking with O2 (my provider) it transpires that blocking the number takes place at the phone level and if you want to stop them leaving voicemail, you have to contact the provider.
