Is the vehicle a hybrid?
They go when they go, it could be under light or heavy braking, but more likely when braking hard. The wear will have taken place over time though, how much depends on the journeys and one's driving style which is why there is no standard interval.Megdrim said:paul_c123 said:Megdrim said:Im not expert but if you ask for full service its not their duty to check everything?0 -

16k since anybody last looked at anything except oil and filter...? Yeh, they may have easily had half to a third of their thickness left back then.
As 400 suggested on the last page, the question is why there was no pad wear warning. There's usually a wire to one pad to put the dash warning light on, but that's easily damaged or left disconnected. Some cars have an audible warning - sounds like the pads down to metal, but you still have full braking.
If the pads did go down to metal, you've probably destroyed the surface of the discs, too.0 -
A police officer told me today its minimal chances to get ticket because front of the car don't pass kerb line .He told me always someone review the photos and always should by three photo evidence. First when car pass the line on red ,second when car clear the line and third when car live the intersection and must be a speed reading too. In my case its only first two and its no pedestrian way in that area.-1

So now take car to a garage, tell then what happened & let them look at the car.
Which is how old, with how many miles on the clock?Life in the slow lane0 -

If the nose of your car is past that, you are guilty.
You do not need to go through the junction completely.
No speed reading is needed, because you aren't being prosecuted for speeding - but some cameras will do both at the same time.
It's the movement of the car past that line while the lights are red that triggers the camera - and there's leeway of usually three seconds after the light goes red.
The light was amber for three seconds.
The red light camera starts three seconds after red.
So you must have crossed the line at least six seconds after amber - which should be your signal to stop.
30mph is just under 14 metres per second. So you would have been probably at least 70m from the lights when they changed to tell you to stop, but you could not do so.
Highway Code stopping distance from 30mph is 23m, made up of 9m thinking distance (2/3 second) and 14m braking distance.1 -
