Morning all
This has got to be my lowest spend ever 😊
Only spent £6 this week on milk, eggs and tea bags.
Will need to get coffee soon for DH but holding out for the last spoonful.
@carboot_karaoke you have reminded me I have some Chinese curry powder thing I bought in Farm foods several months ago.
I have one last pack of stewing steak in the freezer, Think I will use this, bulk out with carrots, potatoes, lentils and peas for the slow cooker. Should make 4 meals for the two of us.
Won’t be doing for a few days as we have chicken livers with a tomato pasta concoction for the next two nights.
Total spend so far this month £114.57/£200
Have a great day all

Morning all, already a bit nervous of going over budget here! Decided to get a “treat” tea on Sunday, pizzas and garlic bread from the counter plus chicken wings and various desserts that the kids and I wanted to try (to last a few days) so that was £29 already gone. Plus have the big shop being delivered today. This means I’ll have everything we need for another week and I just have to stay out of the shops
£101.41 already spent.

Hi Everyone.
I did a big shop in Sainsburys yesterday, and spent £85.42. So my total so far is £151.01.
We dont have a Sainsburys near here, but they do deliver. So yesterday I went to the biggest one within a 15 mile radius and had a good look as i was shopping. I was actually pleasently surprised by the prices. Not as expensive as Morrisons, about on par with Tesco i think price wise. But a wider selection of stuff that we eat.
So I've decided to online shop at Sainsburys from now on, at least until the end of Feb and see what I think. I could have spent ££££'s yesterday, as there is nothing i love more than shoping at a new supermarket and picking up new foods that i find. So I'm pleased with what i spent.

I do need a bunch of stock up items but I'm going to see how long I can go without. Milk is the big thing. And the fruit bowl; only the apples that would have been in the fruit bowl but were in the fridge left now. No oranges or other citrus and no pears, although I have some pears in a jar that I bottled during my neighbour's glut in 2023...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I did my weekly shop at the weekend and spent £23 out of £40 but £14 from the bulk £10. The bulk fund was at £50 before this weeks money went in (& then out again) so that's still okay. I used acccumulated clubcard vouchers to cut the weekly shop.
I'm in training for a big cycling challenge in May so need to eat more protein and carbs. I don't know if I'll be able to maintain the £40 a week but I'll keep trying for now.
I will need to get more eggs todayDeclutter 2024 :277

@time2change would you mind explaining your bulk fund? Do you have a separate budget for it, or does it come from your shopping budget?6

We did our big start of the month stock up today at Lidl. It's been working well for a few months to do a big stock up using our 10% off voucher and then doing focussed weekly shops based on a list created from a meal plan. I've never been this organised before and it feels great. Lord only knows how much money and food I wasted over the years with random shops, top up shops etc etc. better late than never! Our weekly budget is £80 and we spent £95 today but that includes a month's worth of toilet paper, kitchen roll, mouthwash and some store cupboard staples like spaghetti, rice, lentils and olive oil.Balance £225.0010

Good evening All
I’ve made my first spends for February: 96p in Sainsbugs on Sunday on muffins, £1.99 today at a local greengrocer’s for 4kg of medium sized brown onions, and another £11.35 at Sainsbugs this evening.
This evenings Sainsbugs shop included a bag of their Stamford Street peppers £1.28, 170g broccoli 37p, YS cold smoked sardines £1.99, Yeo Valley 450g yoghurts 4x£1.75 (including Greek style with honey!), and bananas 71p. That small head of broccoli was the only piece of loose, unwrapped broccoli in the shop.
Thanks to the YS sardines, dinner tonight is now going to be a warm French lentil salad, accompanied by grilled sardines. It also uses up one large red pepper and a bag of salad left over from last week, when we were away on holiday and self catering. (We shopped with Clubcard vouchers, so no GC money spent.)The above brings our total February GC spend to £14.30/£165.30 leaving £151 for the rest of the month.
