Dashing through to add £24.87 to my total, actually spent on Saturday on a few baking necessities and the things I couldn't get at the market on Friday! I needed the baking things because I hadn't yet done the monthly non-perishables run down into the city, and it's not looking very likely that I'll get it done this week either as I'm silly-busy again - luckily those were the only bits we were close to running out of so we can keep going for a few more days now.
Who am I kidding?! We'd have survived ok without scones etc... it just wouldn't have been as cosy!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)11 -

Hello,
January went horribly wrong and i couldn't get into the habit of posting (also didn't want to because it was all going wrong), back on the wagon! Another £375 for Feb as on the first page. Its only a 4 week month so i'm reasonably confident this time.
I may have mentioned in January that through a perks at work scheme i can buy supermarket gift cards which earn me points that i can then turn into a free Christmas shop (hopefully). I started the month by loading the Sbury card up with £200 and the 4sda card with £100. that leaves me with £75 to play with for bargains at other stores if required.
So far i've managed to spend £68 in 4sda, which i only planned in because the beans/beans and sausage/beans and vegan sausage are on 5 for £5. HOWEVER! i got home and checked the receipt - only 4 of the tins had scanned on the self scan thing, so i ended up paying £7.40! The dilemma then was to go back and admit I'd accidentally nicked a can of beans, and could they add it to my shop and give me some money back, or have a little cry about it then laugh because i am a bit of a prat. I've not been brave enough to go back.

Probably worth emailing Customer Services and see if that produces a result. You've got nothing to lose and £2.40 to gain!

Evening folks. I have spends from Sunday morning to declare.
£20.95 at Lidl for sausages, meatballs, ground beef, frozen gyoza (it’s Asian Week), oat biscuits, their W5 dishwasher tabs, shortbread, and brown sugar for baking. The shortbread was for Mr. Jings to take to a friend he was visiting this week.
£35.35 in M & S for strawberries, clementines, 2 packs of Italian style sausages, butter, 2 cans of sardines, 1L extra virgin olive oil, baked beans, compost bags, a big block of cheddar, garlic, and YS olive ciabatta rolls.
I’ll count the £9 olive oil and £2.49 dishwasher tabs toward the bulk line. I actually read the tabs as £4.98 on the shelf so it was a nice surprise when my Lidl’s total came up cheaper.
£176.34 / £330.00 spent. £153.66 remaining.
£10.00 to last me through February 7th as I’m allocating about £45/week for the rest of the month. £13.63 of bulk funds left
We may need some more bananas tomorrow. Both of us came down with a bad stomach bug this week and we’ve been eating the bananas at a faster clip as easy and bland food. Those bulk funds will be enough to get us a new giant box of Fairy non-bio detergent for OH later this month.

£10 today in Community Food Centre, but stocked up with lots of things that should last me for a week. Used up prawns for tea, in a tandoori sauce made from a basic recipe.
Went to Ikea and lovely DIL bought me lunch so that was nice.

@elsiepac sorry I am late to the Feb GC
£83.23 spent already !!! - I do have a full fridge and freezer now and on my second roast chicken of the month 5 days in.
Feb Grocery £170 target + £30 bulk
Had no heating for a bit as boiler went down so lots of hot filling stews and soups.
I will need to get a bulk lot of coffee (norm big river) but its really gone up £42 for 10 and I think I bought it last week for £4.25 so ....I will shop around locally and see if I can get points - only really like Lava**a, Illy and a few other expensive coffees. Cheap ground coffee/beans is a false economy as I hate the taste,
I am saving already my Morries fivers for xmas - I have £9 approx worth so far - as opposed to spending it thru the year
(Jan overran £210 £187 + £23.39 abroad sub - it was more than this but some was covered by per diem)DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
