This is defo deserving of a Brucey bonus 😊 Find some funds to treat yourself to a nice meal, something relaxing to take your mind of the work stuff even just for a little while.
You need to save this post you made to look back on in moments of doubt about the route you have taken and just how much you have achieved.
EDIT: Hopefully the break away will give you that refresh you want

Well done on clearing so much debt. You'll get there!
It's worth getting a quote for the drains just so you know how much, it might be less than you think.
How cute do the ducklings in the bath sound 🥰
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪3 -
I was up early for the chimney sweep. I messaged him at 9.30 to say the door was unlocked and I was in a meeting upstairs. He reminded me he's coming Thursday not today 🫣 I got up stupidly early for no reason.
I had the dentist today (not tomorrow) and used the last of my food and fuel money on diesel. I'm not sure it's enough to last me til payday but I'll try.
The dentist cost £30 less than I put aside so I bought some bread and a bar of much deserved chocolate. I've got a bit of a cushion now so I'm a little less panicked.
I posted a vntd sale on the way home. I haven't heard about my Jan/Feb extra job payment so I'll have to chase them again tomorrow. This is really poor behaviour now. They told me last week that they'd investigate and get back to me by Friday.
I don't think I'll be working for them again.

I love that you have a chimney sweep 😍
How many trips in the car have you likely got to make before pay day? Maybe it’s a good chance to do more walking… 🫣

Chimney sweeps are surprisingly expensive but necessary! And get booked up ever so quickly round here.
Hope the dentist went OK x

Dentist was fine, no changes since my last check up @LzzyIsGod, thanks for asking. I still have to do something about fixing the teeth that keep chipping but that's a task (and cost) for another day.
No 4h drives to work hopefully @MillQueen but I have a 45minute drive Friday (and back), an hours drive (and back) on Monday maybe, and a 2h drive (and back) on Tuesday. I have another 2h drive on Thursday but that is technically payday so I can use my wages a day early if need be.
I've had worse @PennysIntoPounds ! 😂
The good thing about the chimney sweep panic was that I had to clear enough of my office and desk to be able to do important meetings up there. I haven't worked from the attic office for months, but it is much better for me so I've been meaning to for ages.
I've had to work a few hours again tonight, just to try and catch up on urgent notes and emails. I was meant to finish an overdue report but I had nothing left in my tank. I went and chatted to my ducklings instead. They are too big for the bath now, but still not feathered enough to be outside. I'm going to have to give them the downstairs bathroom for a bit. That might be a task for tomorrow, or maybe Friday. I'd like to start introducing them to the rest of the flock on the weekend for short periods.
They are massive now but still stinking cute! and stinking!

I always find your descriptions of life really lovely with things like an attic office and a bathroom for ducklings. Your diary is one of my favourites for this reason. Duck talk instead of report writing sounds good, and a clear and usable office space is a bonus.

Ah you are lovely @MillQueen, thank you. When I was in debt up to my eyeballs and living in constant panic all I could see were the problems and the broken stuff, but I've tried really hard in the last few years to see the positives too and let myself have a bit of whimsy. Ducklings in the bath for a few weeks is infinitely cheaper than a few nights out drinking so basically they're MSE.
This is the box they came in, I put them in there to sleep at night and stay warm but I think they've outgrown it already!
