First coat of paint on the landing done. First time I've ever used an extension rod for painting and my clumsy disorganised self managed quite well.

I've had a good look at the skirting board that the electrician didn't put back on when the house was rewired (5 years ago?) and I reckon I can do it myself. I also need to get some plaster in a pot and fill in where the old light switch was, I'll buy some in the week. I'm sure there are a few that need doing I just need to remember where and do them all in one go. There are a few cracks that might show through when the paint dries.

I'll clean the downstairs bathroom now before doing the second coat later.

Very impressed with your DIY, well done. I used an old curtain pole as an extension rod when I painted my home office. It worked brilliantly.

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪

I cleaned the kitchen before bed, got up this morning thinking how lovely it looked (well, as lovely as a polished turd can look) and then!!! Saw!!!! Slug trails all over the chopping boards!!! 🤢

So he's (they've) claimed the oven, the food trays, the plastic container storage, and now the butchers block.

Do I go down through the night to look for him (them)? Do I let my chickens sleep in there overnight?? Do I take a flame thrower to what's left of my kitchen?!!!?!!?

I DON'T WANT TO LIVE LIKE THIS!

I genuinely preferred the mouse that lived in there the winter before last, he was cute and we came to an arrangement. He left my food alone as long as I sacrificed the crackers. Then he happily left (with my assistance) in spring.

There is nothing nice about ninja slugs in your kitchen, taunting you about all the places they've been!!

I used to salt around the cooker, when I had the old cooker and still had the old damp cupboards. I'll have to start doing it again.

In happier news, I have ducklings. Tiny baby ducklings it seems, definitely not old enough to be outside with the others. They are currently living in a box in my bath to keep them safe. This was not the plan, but when do my plans ever go to plan?

Thanks for the photo of solidarity @Baldybear !
