I do also have 3 bags of potatoes to use up!
Ooooo maybe I could do a spring onion and potato soup? It's been drizzly here all day and likely all week.

  • Potato soup is delicious. Unfortunately the spring onions are a no go area for me as I am allergic to them. Touching or eating them makes me very poorly indeed.

    Chickens! I've missed that news!

You could portion up and freeze mashed potato? Or make cheesy potato mash to serve with salad?

Glad the events went well xx

@[Deleted User] is it all onions? That would be tough, they are in everything!
@LzzyIsGod Yes two new chickens as one of mine died and the other is likely to soon (according to the vet but you wouldn't think it to look at her!). They are giving me eggs already, which is lovely as the other two didn't. Embarrassing to admit but I used to have a mashed potato phobia. I can eat it now, but I am ridiculously fussy about it. I love potatoes in all other formats though, including crushed and jackets, which are almost identical to mashed.

I think potatoes and onions are pretty good things to have an abundance of. Bagel with cream cheese and spring onions for lunch today and pork stir fry with spring onions for tea. Yesterday I used them in patatas bravas.

Only 5 more days til payday! I need to get fuel tomorrow and I could do with buying some meat of some description to go with all the cupboard and freezer staples I have.

Phew! Relieved for you @[Deleted User] !!

I've done my last long drive for work (before payday), I still have half a tank of fuel to last me until Monday.
I did a little food shop today so if I'm careful I shouldn't need anything more until payday.
Jacket potato with salad and lots of spring onions for tea tonight.
I have £16 left in my account so I think I'll be ok, but I will feel much more confident at the end of tomorrow.
What a horrible month financially!! I'll be glad to see the end of it.

I've taken Monday off work as the weather should be nice. If I get rid of some of the mess in my garden and shed over the weekend and take it to the tip on Monday, I'll feel like I've done something productive that doesn't cost anything.

    On I plod!
