You're doing great. Definitely sell unwanted items before internal organs 😁
Any way to get out of the events? Or make them sneakily mse?3 -
Your figures are looking great! How can you cope with that £8.83 though, it would be drilling through my head
I'd have to try and sell or drop something to clear that

I definitely have to go, @PennysIntoPounds but one of them could be relatively cheap. I hope. I'll find as many compromises as I can on the other.
@jwil that credit card is what I use for work related food and mileage til I get it back 😂.
Eventually I should get into more of a regular routine, have an idea of my average costs, and save money into a separate account for it. At the moment it can be anything between £140 and £500 a month so the credit card it is (but no interest because I clear it on payday).Debts 04/01/25 02/06/25

Eurgh! My wheels fell off this week. I've spent money I shouldn't have and buried my head in the sand and not looked at any balances because of the fear/guilt/shame.
I convinced myself to face up to it a bit today, and at least check my balance transfer credit cards as I hadn't spent on those and could at least track those figures without fear. I was then able to check everything else, because I'd made a start. I have spent money from different accounts and pots and to try and track what needs to be transferred from where to where to balance it all out would be too much. I'm just going to do what I can with what I have for the rest of the month.
I am technically not in more debt, I spent from wages and pots, so it's not too bad. Although that does now mean I have no money left for food and fuel top ups for the rest of the month so I may need to use my newly started emergency fund.
I tried to do things cheaply, such as buying shoes and bags from vinted for my event next week, but three times the orders weren't sent so I panicked and ended up buying expensive shoes that were at least comfortable and the matching bag. I just couldn't face any more stress about this event that I don't even want to go to. I will wear the shoes again I am sure, they go with lots, and they are good quality. They are also possibly the most expensive shoes I've ever bought and I haven't even tried them on yet from shame. I have at least opened the box and much to my surprise have not actually died from shame so I might try them on later.
I have also bought multiple takeaways because I have been in that F-it zone and hormonal, so the cheap dress might not even fit nowI've still got ten days I'm sure it will be fine.
Anyway, just confessing my sins, publicly, to try and draw a line under it.

Well done you for owning it and not acquiring extra debt.
Maybe later in the month you'll feel up to a re-jig of pots, I know the hormonal lack of energy and brain fog well! It'll pass and you will be back to your debt-busting self in no time. And you still have things you want to sell if you feel motivated to find some extra funds.
Try the shoes on so you can send them back to retailer if they don't fit! That's definitely an OAT you can nip in the bud 🍻

Don't beat yourself up, we all do it!
Definitely try the shoes on to make sure they are ok."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney1 -
Many many years ago there was a fashion segment on This Morning (back in the days when daytime telly was great but I digress) and the expert said to work out whether expensive purchases were worth it you should half the amount it cost every time you wear it and itll give you an idea whether it was or not.
Now I have applied this theory to many big ticket purchases over the years and if I can predict that I will get a lot of repeated wear out of something (and keep forever) then I will go for it. Going out shoes are a hard call unless you go to events frequently but if you think you will keep them and re-wear them at various points until they fall to bits (like I do) and they fit and are versatile then I wouldn't feel too bad about. If they are a panic buy (An argh! I need something to wear moment and these will do) then you can either send them back or wear and sell on.
The main thing is no more debt was accrued. We all have these moments, it's a blip not crash xx2 -
You owned the situation very quickly, then moved on. All goodIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
