Yay! 48 hours in, how many left @beanielou?
Today I tidied up a bit, and cleared some more space in the back room and removed stuff, now I know where some bits are. The charity shop pile is growing.
Made a pie 🥧 and roast potatoes 🥔 🥔 for tea tonight.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

72 hours to go. The benefit of fantastic tradesmen absolutely going the extra mile. Great news @abundant1972 🎉🎉
Happy new kitchen @beanielou 🎉 soundslike very good tradespeople to know 😀
Good to hear you're resting @grandmanerd, think I might have to join you on the chaise. Slept with a hot water bottle under my shoulder, but both shoulders super achy & sore today.
NSD#3
Work was a little eventful this afternoon, but nothing I could handle. The HT praised me as I was getting my coat on, so pleased I get recognition for what I do.
A little frustrated when I got home, my Eboy sale was slightly bent in the post, so customer wants a refund 😓 finished reading my book to take my mind off it. Did 2 sewing jobs after tea.
Grateful for hot water bottles, a good morning at work & that it's nearly half term!Use it up, wear it out

Recovering slowly. By the end of yesterday I'd managed to hobble to the front and back doors using my stick and early this morning I made it up the stairs to the toilet (I brushed my teeth and had an all over flannel wash too). A huge weight off my mind. I'm not eager to get upstairs again (just chillin atm) but it's good to know I can when I have to.
I watched a film yesterday and have 2 more lined up (one's slightly intense and the other's supposed to be comedic). I watched yesterday's because I hadn't seen it before (okay it had Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer in). I need to cut screen time because my eyes are quite sore (have used eye drops this morning) but I'm struggling with concentration and don't have much to read (finished one book yesterday and currently reading a cs purchase that I started weeks ago and then put down). When the boys were small it was always great to escape into something totally different to my own reality (I did read 'good' books too) but these days I often find it hard to empathise with the 'heroine' (books and films) and just keep thinking 'well you're an idiot'. Maybe it's just that I've watched most of the gripping drama series and I'm choosing the best of the dregs (American stereotypical roles don't help).
I slept a lot yesterday, which was helpful but slightly bewildering (waking up at 8 pm after a 3 hour nap when the open laptop had turned itself off). Think today will be less sleeping but still mostly on the couch with little bits of tidying here and there. Will go through the challenge goals and see if I have anything useful to say (more five minute ideas etc). I'm sure I had some ideas before I fell over. Massive change in priorities since then - I was so pleased with myself for managing to brush my teeth sitting at the end of the couch and spitting into a bucket (big win).
Grateful for a good film (and 2 more to come), groping and hobbling my way forward, acceptance - I'm not going anywhere for now, I can't do anything about it so I'll not fret over it.10 -
Good morning!
Thanks everyone! It's nice to share some good news for once! 😊
Having a day of trying to let go of things that no longer serve: Debt. Old job and the conflicts it brought. Old ways of relating. Old clothes. Old unhealthy eating patterns.
I'm going to get some exercise in. Change my sheets. Do some space clearing ✨
Today I am grateful for:
1) Endings and new beginnings around the corner
2) Making space for positivity
3) Feeling on track
Today = NSD number 4
Have a lovely day 😚 x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Wonderful news @abundant1972 and love the positivity.
Take care @grandmanerd that sounds like a scary fall.
Hope your shoulder is feeling better today @Thrifty_Taylor.
@beanielou I'm very happy to hear your kitchen is progressing smoothly.
Busy day at work yesterday, but with positive outcomes, for once, so I was quite happy when I left the office.
Went into central London with my work bestie to celebrate our birthday (we have birthday on the same day in October - different years - and have been planning it since November as we had to reschedule for various reasons). We had planned to eat ramen, and as we got to the restaurant we saw that it was closed and there was a sign on the door "restaurant is closed due to an annual staff party". We checked the other branches, and they were all closed. What are the chances, out of 365 days, we pick the day to celebrate out birthday, months after the fact, exactly when they are having their staff party?
We then went to a Vietnamese one that we both love, and we had a lovely dinner and evening. I got home just after 9pm and I was really tired, wanted to do a bit of knitting before bed but I kept falling asleep, so I gave up.
Today is going smoothly, it's a much calmer day than yesterday workwise, and there is line dancing tonight, but I don't know if I will go. No one from our group has been since the new year, I guess we have to find our mood back, and January is such a weird month. I will definitely start going again in February, as I'm missing it.
Yesterday was not a NSD, but today it definitely will be, NSD #4. Also, I have just received my first payment from redeeming the points accumulated doing surveys, and it feels good! Tomorrow I will be receiving payment for those books and dvd's I sold last week, and will be able to use it to finally get a second pair of leggings, as I have basically been living in the first pair since I bought them a year ago, and they are also starting to look a bit worse for wear from all that washing.
Today I am grateful for this little extra payment coming in, for being able to recuperate some energy at home while still working, and for warm water with lemon which helps me drinking enough water when it gets cold (without feeling I need to add a biscuit to it, which I would if it was tea).Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:

A slow day. Less sleep but long periods of rest. I did take one bag out to the bins but it was very tiring. I've done quite a bit of sweeping but the floor is messy and needs wiping or mopping in some way (I do have a pack of floor wipes upstairs but forgot to bring them down. Nearly fell over twice. Once I corrected myself almost immediately but the other time I'd been picking up rubbish from the floor then struggled to get back upright (I grabbed the couch arm but not the best hold).
I've checked the fridge. I still have a couple of ready meals and if I have grated cheese and fresh peppers on wraps twice I can get through to Friday when I hope to get as far as the community shop. Can't get much as I definitely want the fridge-freezer to move to it's new location soon. I have quite a lot of frozen veg and tinned beans to make meals but can't yet stand up for long enough to do this (budget has taken a hit because of this). Hopefully I will recover from this.
Grateful for my leg improving (not hurting unless I make the wrong move), resting without falling asleep every five minutes, seeing more of the floor.10
