Well done folks on your debt clearing. @apple_muncher your eyes sound like mine, only I've got cataracts in both of mine!

Slept for an extra hour, then did yoga & Pilates. Went for a walk after breakfast with DH. Half way round the 4.5 mile circuit, it started pouring with rain, so we were totally drenched! Pleased that my customer couldn't make her appointment today, so I could have a long dinner & read my book, followed by a 10 mins nap 😀 Man came to pick up item id sold, then sewed a new tool belt for DS1 & a coat zip for s customer.
Paid into sinking funds after tea & did a meter reading. Received an email from our new energy supplier, with this month's bill & it's £73 cheaper than the company we were with up until the start of this year! Had a long bath with my book (only started it last night & I'm halfway through already!)
Grateful for my oodie, customer cancelling, other customer turning up, lots of reading timeUse it up, wear it out

If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Well I'm having an eventful week. Yesterday as I took my lovely meal out of the microwave and it flipped over when it was half way out. I'd treated myself to a few items on my last shopping list so I could save more time for doing the tidying and clearing and also thinking that although they were more expensive than I'd usually pay (until I can get to the community shop again with it's 3 for a £1 ones) they were still exponentially cheaper than getting takeaway. Pasta meatballs and gorgeous gooey pasta sauce on the top, middle shelf and base of the small kallax unit (some even went in the half of a yoghurt which I was saving for this morning - again I have decided that my favourite yoghurt stuffed with porridge oats was much healthier and cheaper than the alternatives I pick when I don't know exactly what I'm having for breakfast. So much of the evening was spent mopping up - throwing kitchen roll at it then wiping when it had soaked in - in a very confined space.
Other than that progress was good but couldn't define what happened -things improved, lots went to the bins and skip and I have better access to the stuff that still needs clearing.
Onto this morning. There was a knock at the door (shortly after the postman had been). Opened the door and a young workman asked if he could have access to the back door. What for? I said rather belligerently (thinking he was with next door's workmen, doing the damp proof course and other repairs). I'm doing the drains. I apologised profusely, assented and then scurried through to the back door as I haven't yet cleared the space he needed. The sun was in my eyes and I stepped out and went full length - he had already cleared the miscellaneous stuff (water butt, bin with an apple tree, lots of plants waiting to go in and much else besides) and taken up the paving stones from the place the toilet drain will exit up to the existing soil stack. So I sprawled full length onto mostly brownish mud/ soil. Then he came to help me up. I'm back on the couch (not yet showered but taken all my pills) because I was shaken up. That's receding but think there's a slight wrench at the top of my leg (not serious, I don't need an ambulance, just something else to rest and watch out for today and maybe a few days.
Grateful for helpful workmen (he's also cleared a space just under 5' square which would have taken me days to do), the couch and taking time for my heart rate to go back to normal and start noticing any other pains and DS3 who helped me back to the couch.11 -

Hope you feel better soon. That new shower downstairs is going to be priceless to you.
At least you can tick mudwrestling with a tradesman off the bucket list. Please be careful while people are digging up your house. They honestly don't think about where they leave / move stuff. You are precious.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I bit the bullet and ordered a light vacuum cleaner this morning. I am tired of struggling up 2 flights of steep and narrow stairs with my excellent, but very weighty, Henry. I am worried that either I, or OH will fall down the stairs with the thing. Unfortunately we are not as young and strong as we were. Henry can stay downstairs and the new one can live upstairs.I struggled up and down the stairs with Henry this morning, and decided enough was enough.Lots of bitty, tidying jobs also done so far today. I have put lots of stuff away, and cleaned and tidied the bathroom. OH is restoring some old artists' boxes, so that is all over the dining table (I will be glad when it gets warmer again and he decamps to his workshop!), but it is what it is.Dinner tonight will be the remains of a quiche I made at the weekend, with salad bits and rice pudding for afters. I squeezed 2 grapefruit that have been lurking in the fridge since they turned up in a L*dl veg box - I considered turning them into marmalade, but we have lots of marmalade currently, and have instead made something nice and sharp for me to drink so I don't want a glass of wine
