    That input dial looks to have been the victim of a slightly botched installation - as there shouldn't be that metal rim visible below it - and that may well have an effect on how effective it is, and indeed whether it works at all. we had something similar on one of our XLN's at the flat - in our case it was the tempt-boost dial that controlled the baffle setting. As a result the baffles really didn't work as they should!

    That could explain why the OP has it set to max.

    Octopus Snug may be an option. I pretty much get 9 hours off peak per day, at on off peak rate 25% cheaper than Economy 7.

    There used to be a basic website a few years ago which allowed you to share what Eco 10 rates you were getting. Was very helpful. Even if there's a small amount of suppliers it would really be alot swifter than ringing round.
    In case anyone wants to check out rates, I made a note of eco 10 suppliers from April last year (I'm from Eastern region so might be different elsewhere);
    Utility Warehouse (I currently use, 7p per off peak unit on standard variable)
    Eon, EDF, Scottish Power, Good Energy, Fuse Energy, Green Energy, Home Energy.

    Thanks all for your comments...

    I've sent the ongoing query regarding the existing/legacy (odd?) timings to the ombudsman now in the hope that they can shed some light on it...if anyone has thoughts on whether the timings look reasonable or very odd (as I do) please share!

    Looking forward, I called Ovo to enquire about moving to E10 with them (and to enquire about their timings) but I was told firmly that they wouldn't take us on as a customer without first moving to an E7 smart meter, which seems to kind of miss the point...I got the impression that they weren't support E10 going forward but I may have got that wrong.

    OVO? I see they have Economy 10 plans available, also in Eastern region.
    I'm not being lazy ...
    I'm just in energy-saving mode.

    Maybe just an issue with new customers?

    Hi Ildhund,

    Thanks for the detailed info. I looked up and found a table of TPR codes with engine.co.uk but apparently I can't post a link.

    It is definitely an RTS meter and yes it certification has expired, which I understand means that it should have been replaced...is that considered a serious matter?

    When you say that you suppose that the timings are a framework within which the heating circuit can be activated (that's what I had been wondering) - do you think that the actual times that the meter energises the heater circuit may be different to the timings set under TPR 01082?

    The data page came from Octopus via the ombudsman...How do I edit my previous post to redact the MPAN? I'll upload the other data pages shortly (without the MPAN!

    For all concerned about the input dial....it's broken and just placed in the hole...it isn't actually fixed to the thermostat. Not ideal.
