There's always Libre Office which is very good (and totally free) and then much cheaper cloud storage to replace OneDrive (if you need that option).

I'm very happy with Libra Office. I've been using it for two years, all my XLSX workbooks open just fine (Including some VBA macros which also work).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Credit Cards, Savings & investments, and Budgeting & Bank Accounts boards. Sadly not, as they are warning you a year in advance of the change of subscription.Olinda99 said:contact your card company? tell.them the 89.99 was unauthorised companies cannot just add chargeable things without your agreement
Which gives you a whole year to action as per @emperorbruce has done.
SCAM has to be the most over used word on this site....0 -
I think 'scam' is appropriate as they are actually changing your subscription to add something that you may not actually want. The honest way around it would have been to say 'here is an option to add AI functionality to your subscription at an extra charge - if you don't want it you can remain on your existing subscription rate'.Olinda99 said:

They're not changing the subscription. They're warning you of a price increase happening next year.MikeyPGT said:

By no stretch of the imagination is this a "scam".4 -

It sounds like you've got recurring billing on in your subscription to MS365. You can log in to your Microsoft account and turn it off.
I renew my subscription manually each year, but I wait until Amazon Prime Day, when Microsoft sell it at a substantial discount.
I subscribe to Microsoft 365 Family, which gives me MS365 for up to 6 people, each of whom can install it on up to 5 devices. They each get 1TB of OneDrive storage as well. Last year on Amazon Prime Day I paid £49.99 for 15 months subscription.

Martin's weekly email of 11/2/25 explains how to move from the AI inflated price back to the "classic" price. I've done that today (new yearly sub takes effect on 1/3/25).
I'm just putting this out there... MS have not changed the price for M365 (and it's slightly differently named predecessors) for about 10 years, so I didn't actually think it was that much of an issue paying £25 more, considering how much prices have risen over that period. However, I have no interest in using the AI features so, back to classic I went.2 -
My subscription was to renew on Family+Copilot on 22/02/2025.
When checking / managing my subscription (Cancel auto renewal), I was offered:
1) 2 months free to have more time to experience Family+Copilot
=> Selected this and my new renewal date is now 22/04/2024
2 ) The possibility to switch back to Family Classic (£79.99/year) at my renewal date.
=> Which I did so when I automatically renew on 22/04/2025, I will go back on Family Classic (£79.99/year).
Those MSE newsletters are so great and precious.
Thank you Martin Lewis.2
