Microsoft 365 scam

On 21 December 2024 I received an email from Microsoft telling me that they would be taking £59.99 from my credit card for my annual Microsoft 365 Personal subscription. On 20th January 2025 I received an email saying that they would be charging £84.99 next year. There is a video on YouTube explaining what Microsoft are up to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYVPThx7yss&list=LL&index=1&pp=gAQBiAQB
If you have a Microsoft 365 account make sure you spot what they are trying to do to you

I've just realised they were warning me of NEXT year's charge. I have changed my account to 'Basic' from next year which only costs £16

So not a scam then. How about amending the thread title?emperorbruce said:I've just realised they were warning me of NEXT year's charge. I have changed my account to 'Basic' from next year which only costs £1610 -
Sadly not, as they are warning you a year in advance of the change of subscription.Olinda99 said:contact your card company? tell.them the 89.99 was unauthorised companies cannot just add chargeable things without your agreement
Which gives you a whole year to action as per @emperorbruce has done.
SCAM has to be the most over used word on this site....Life in the slow lane9 -
Warning you in advance of a price increase happening next year would seem to be the exact opposite of of a scam.5

It probably isn't the most overused, but I'd be fairly confident that it's the most misused word! It's rare indeed to read SCAM in a thread title and find when you read the thread that it actually is about a scam.
