Not been any sign of the DD with the Nationwide and no money has been taken from my account.
HSBC states they received the DD from Nationwide today (via message this afternoon) and this evening it now shows up on my CC transactions as "Direct Debit Payment - Thank You"
I had an odd one with my Nationwide DD payment to Amex this week, the credit to my Amex card was showing before there was any sign of the amount being debited from Nationwide. I've never seen that before, and until the DD did appear I wondered if something had gone wrong in the usual process.0 -
I have a BT on the card so did make a manual payment just in case of any trouble .
The card had £20 available before payments once the £50 manual and £50 DD were taken it showed £120 available. Just checked and now been updated to £70 available. Looks like the DD wasn't taken. I did cancel a DD but reinstated it a few days later (11th Jan)

My DD is due out on the 5th HSBC states DD set up Nationwide states it's not. I plan to check on the 5th and if not taken make a debit card payment. But I should have to do this.
Have Nationwide actually explicitly stated that there's no DD mandate or is it just not showing within app/online banking yet? Some institutions only show them after the first payment has been claimed....
Lloyds showed the direct debits within days, natwest was when the first payment was taken, usually about 10pm the night before
It varies from 1 bank to another, if was me I would sort it out sooner rather than couple a days before as you run the risk of a late payment charge. I have a HSBC card a suggestion would be to go on the app use the chat facility and get a definite answer from HSBC as to what they have and the same with Nationwide, then you have covered all bases0 -
I'm seeing the same with RBS Direct Debit to Amex. Showing on RBS the day after the credit.SiliconChip said:HillStreetBlues said:The plot thickens.

Amex has been doing this to me for a while now. They credit my statement with the amount to be taken, but the DD money doesn't actually leave my Lloyds current account until a day or two later. I expect if I didn't have enough funds and the payment bounced then they would remove the credit.sausage_time said:

I stopped paying Amex by DD as was it was taken 11 days before due date, I don't mind one or two but felt that was taking the P.PRAISETHESUN said:
