It is standard procedure for everyone who has been prosecuted for speeding.
But you haven't been prosecuted. How did they find out you had been caught speeding?

Getting paid to do a course while in works time. Sounds like a winner to me. Even though you have just done a speed awareness course.

Getting paid to not work, what is not to like. The more courses the better🤣

I fail to see an issue, unless the course is in the Shetlands and you are expected to drive there from Cornwall in your own time.

Your boss gives you an instruction - you carry it out. (Provided it is legal :) )

Fail to carry it out or complain loudly about it and you either face disciplinary action, or paint a target on your back by giving them more to write up and put in your file.

Like I said earlier, Initiative is punished. Your boss does not want you to tell them that their decision making is flawed, and they certainly don't want you telling anyone else either!

I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

I wasnt sure if they would know, but they do.
We have to produce our licences every few years and I think we sign something that gives them the right to check our license.
It wouldnt be good if someone got their license taken off them, but carried on driving.

This is a money saving website and I dont like the council wasting money.

@Baldytyke88 if you hadn't been on the police course, would you still be against going?

No, perfectly sensible to do a training course. There are other areas of my job where I feel we lack knowledge.
I had an issue today, a wheelchair user being transported, when the chair has no head restraint.

Internal Health and Safety courses are often considered mandatory. Non attendance / failure to comply can be frowned upon.

Company vehicle, so they saw the course offer before it was forwarded to you?

Yes company vehicle. I did get a NIP when they thought I was driving a different vehicle that went through a red light; but I dont recall a NIP for this.

The company would have seen a NIP, and responded naming the OP. All further correspondence would have been direct between the police and the OP. The company wouldn't have seen it, unless he showed it to them.
