The content is likely to be different and may get you to consider possible consequences to your employment (or lack of if you continue to offend)

My question is more about speed awareness courses, not employment.
Myself and most drivers do very little driver training, so 2 courses on the same subject with a month of each other  seems strange.
Yes, a speed awareness course helps drivers not to speed in the future, but does another one help even more.

...but you have to wait 5 years before you are allowed to do another one.
One every three years. Unless one offence is in Dorset, then you can do two.
There is also a separate NDORS course for offences on variable limit motorways, Most forces allow a driver to do one of each in three years.

It makes sense for drivers to do continuous training, every 12/24 months, but not the same course within a month.
This argument is only valid if they were sending you on it because you had been caught speeding

sounds to me like the employers course is standard and independent of the police course

imo there are certain fights that are not worth it. to me this is one

Yes, a speed awareness course helps drivers not to speed in the future, but does another one help even more.
But the issue is about employment given your documented issues with your employer.

Assuming you have to drive as part of your role they have every right to cover their H&S responsibilities and you saying ‘I’ve already done a course’ isn’t going to cut it

Assuming it’s in works time and you’re being paid then not sure why you’ve an issue with this ?

So an education question, not a motoring or employment one?

Do you drive a work vehicle as part of your job? If so I'd make an effort to do their course. Even if you feel it's stupid and a waste of time, attending and engaging in the course keeps you in the clear.

Then don't get caught next time.

I doubt the second course arranged by your employer is solely a speed awareness course.

It will be some sort of accredited driver skills and awareness course that you employer signs up to so they can reap certain benefits, like reduced insurance premiums.
Speed will be one element, but it won't be the same thing.

I've had to do them myself with my previous job.
First was a classroom one where you pick holes in the total nonsense sprouted by the clearly unqualified lecturer that is just reading the same badly written and misspelt pamphlet that's in your own hand.

The second an incredible short on road driver assessment given by someone that clearly isn't old enough to hold a moped licence or is so old they want you to start the car with the starting handle and signal with your arms AND semaphores.

You can't fail, not even if you've never seen a car before. Everyone will get a A5 piece of paper with some crest on it stating you achieved a certain level.
Then you can watch some of the lower rung, fellow course members wheel spin and donut around the carpark before you all go home

That is possible, but I don't see how it can stop me from speeding.
Rather like passing your driving test at the beginning of the month and then needing to pass again at the end of the month.
I have been driving for 40+ years

@Baldytyke88 if you hadn't been on the police course, would you still be against going?
