Double driver awareness course

I got a speeding ticket a few months ago and I did a speed awareness course earlier this month.
This morning at 6.30 am I got a call from my employer to go on a works speed awareness course in the afternoon. It didn't happen, because there was no one to cover my jobs.
But now that I have thought about it, doing 2 speed awareness courses within a few weeks of each other is totally pointless.
I work for a local authority, but I am thinking about putting in a complaint via the union about this waste of money.
I did think that they could improve on the .gov awareness course, but doing another one is surely a waste of money?

It’s not a waste if it prevents other people from getting caught speeding. Yours could even argue that as a prevention measure the work based one is more useful.

The .gov speed awareness course is meant to reduce reoffending, but you have to wait 5 years before you are allowed to do another one.

Is this a private course arranged by  your employer, rather than a police arranged one?

One every three years. Unless one offence is in Dorset, then you can do two.

There is also a separate NDORS course for offences on variable limit motorways, Most forces allow a driver to do one of each in three years.

It is standard procedure for everyone who has been prosecuted for speeding.

It makes sense for drivers to do continuous training, every 12/24 months, but not the same course within a month.
