Well done to both of them - especially considering how much both of them have been coping with. I'd forgotten your older DD's op. It's wonderful she can now look ahead with certainty.

lol The suggestion that I had anything to do with there success genuinely made me chuckle! I mean I try, but honestly I feel like they have managed despite the burden of having me as a mother rather than because of me! Bless their little souls!

Well, week one officially done! 🎉 I know if has been a rather painful week and I have probably taken a few more breaks than I perhaps should have but I am confident that I will be able to add value to this new team so I don’t feel too bad. It is my first week after all. I’ll be honest, when I started on Monday I did genuinely wonder if I would just end up putting myself back in hospital and lose the job before if has even started but having completed a week and seen the kind of people they are, I am fairly sure that even if I do end up going off sick fairly soon then I don’t think they would just instantly write me off. Not that I have any plans too obviously, but I only have a limited stash of painkillers and as it is I am very much relying on them. Just being able to eat is really touch and go at the minute and I know that if it tips even slightly more the other way I’ll not be able to eat and that becomes a downward spiral very quickly.
Thankfully my weight loss has slowed to about half a pound a day. Still more than I should be losing even if I was trying but ironically I am actively pushing myself to eat at the moment. I think back to all the times I have slaved away with a diet and not even lost half a pound in a week, now I have the opposite problem. It’s a sure sign something is not right.
Anyway, top priority this weekend is a bit of tidying up and lots of washing because I am quite behind. Lots of puppy cuddles, maybe go and see what easy things I can do in the garden if I feel up to it, and top priority… do something nice with dd2 whilst dd1 is away camping. I probably should be looking to making progress on the van so I am better prepared for the next trip down to the office but honestly, staying in a b&b was probably a good call whilst I am feeling so ill. I am still much better off money wise than if I was on benefits so I am just going to accept that at least for now then it might come as a bit of an extra cost. Using the fridge and microwave for meals in the van seems a reasonable compromise for now so the rest can wait (at least until I get to set my budget up again then I will probably change my mind! 🤣).
Money wise, I am still just waiting for everything to settle. My new credit card should arrive any day and then I will have another juggle of debt to get more back onto 0%. My first pay day should be the last but one day of the end of the month although it wont be a full month. Then there will be the inevitable settling of the benefits to contend with. I suspect I wont really have a clear picture until October but once I finally do I will get on and update my now very out of date signature! 😁End ofSep-25Oct-25Brother 7,800.00 7,650.00 Overdraft owed 0.00 0.00 MBNA CC 11,481.53 11,504.06 Barclaycard CC 9,662.17 9,558.10 Fluid CC 1,046.44 1,036.29 NatWest CC 11,705.36 11,693.03 Aqua 1,127.94 1,107.94

Well done on a complete week! That's quite an achievement given that you feel so ill.
Can the doctor prescribe something high calorie to help slow the weight loss?
