Perhaps stress of working didn't help !

Do you clench your jaw? That could be a trigger for the pain. Hope it's gone now

I think it might be a combination of all your suggestions tbh. That and possibly something to do with staring at a screen for so long as my eyes really hurt too.

I’d love to say that I finished work and the pain went away but I would be lying. I am still in quite a bit of pain now and that is despite taking extra painkillers.

One thing I think I do need to do is sit at my desk when I am not working and see if it triggers it. I probably ought to get my eyes checked too but currently can’t afford it.

Still, at least I am only doing two days a week for a couple of months. Hopefully whatever it is settles down a bit with time and it is just a blip. Otherwise I might need to find a new job that doesn’t involve a screen… or the outdoors(to avoid the cold), or being on my feet (due to my achilles issues). Urgh! When did I get so broken! 😞

Definitely check out gl@$$es direct once you have a new prescription. So much cheaper than an optician. Theres a wee bit checking to do - look at the inside leg of any of your glasses and there should be the sizes. If you know any one else who weaesglasses and would let you, check the sizes of theirs to see what you find comfortable. Hot down the look through their glasses to see what ones match the size you feel comfortable with.

I think your test should be free if you haven't had one in 2 years so no need to wait to get that bit done? You might find your prescription hasn't changed. Plus as stymied says do you get help through work for vdu depth ones?

Well done for getting through it! I suspect it's worth checking your eyes and posture, especially as you're working from home (I find I don't care for myself as much as my manager did, when it comes to sitting correctly!). Are you able to take breaks away from the computer, and look away from the screen regularly?

Of course, some of it may be that you've not used your muscles this way for a while.

And then there are these things which you are probably aware of but just a gentle reminder in case any help:

Just popping in to see how you are @EatingBeans! Very impressive progress though sorry to hear about the pain. I think it will be trial and error to rule different factors in and out. Love Humdinger xx
